More madness

JPD issued the following statements.

#1

On Monday, August 21, 2017 at approx. 1:00 AM, Jackson Police Officers responded to I-220S near Watkins Dr. regarding a stalled vehicle in the lane of traffic with what appeared to be bullet holes in it.

Upon officers' arrival, it was learned that a gray Nissan Altima had sustained heavy damage due to what appeared to be gunfire. Officers discovered the driver of the vehicle, an unidentified black male, deceased in the driver seat. He sustained at least one gunshot wound to the head. He was the lone occupant of the vehicle at the time of the shooting. It appeared that he was traveling south bound on I-220 at the time this incident occurred. Evidence discovered on scene reflected the incident occurred while he was driving and the suspect(s) allegedly fired shots from another unidentified moving vehicle. This is the 38th homicide investigation for 2017.

There was no suspect nor witness information at the time of this reporting. Anyone with any information is urged to contact police at 601-960-1234 or 601-355-TIPS (8477).

#2

On Monday, August 21, 2017, at approx. 1:26 PM, Jackson Police Officers responded to 1066 Branch St. regarding a shooting and stabbing. Upon officers' arrival, it was learned that Reginald Cammon-21, had been shot multiple times. He was pronounced deceased on scene. Demarcus Banyard-31 had also been possibly stabbed. He was transported to UMMC for medical treatment. He's listed in stable condition.

During the course of the investigation, it was learned there was a domestic dispute between the mother of Cammon and her boyfriend, Banyard. Barnyard physically assaulted her. She sustained several injuries about the face and body. Allegedly, Reginald Cammon intervened and Banyard shot him. She was also taken to the hospital for medical treatment and she's stable. Upon Banyard's release from medical treatment, he will be questioned and possibly charged in this incident.

This is the 39th homicide investigation for 2017. This investigation is ongoing.

And nobody from the office of the Mayor has anything to say.I thought the mayor would be different than the shuck and jive mayors from the past?????

Wonder if he is related to Demarious Banyard? Gotta be.

Did anyone really think the new mayor was any different than those before him?
He would not have been elected if he was any different.

I think Cammon was quite a bit younger than 21 and the time of the shooting is wrong. May want to check on this.

Always one step ahead of the criminals...I'm avoiding Branch Street this afternoon.

Wow. Predicting homicides in advance! "On Monday, August 21, 2017, at approx. 1:26 PM, Jackson Police Officers responded to 1066 Branch St. regarding a shooting and stabbing. Upon officers' arrival, it was learned that Reginald Cammon-21, had been shot multiple times." And EXACTLY at peak eclipse time, too! Illuminati confirmed!

"He was the lone occupant of the vehicle at the time of the shooting."

How'd they figure that out?!

This reminds me of either old-style Chicagoland gangster killings or jobs done by the Mexican cartels. It makes the old stories posted on here about the "Gold Coast" of Rankin County seem very tame!

Any updates on Freeze?

9:09 Remember the mayor is a politician and a lawyer. Lawyers know to never ask
a question if you don't know the answer. The mayor knows he has no answer to the
murder epidemic in his city. He'd rather talk about vague issues like poverty and
human rights or maybe a vegan diet. The murder problem is about basic human
behavior and that might not fit his political agenda. So let's have a vegan
sandwich.

Supersleuth... you should come up with another moniker. I'm no Perry Mason, but one can surmise that if blood spatter covered the other seating areas, no one could have been seated there.

Traffic cams on 220?

Let Rober S Smith get a crack at prosecuting these criminals...He'll show them that Jackson is not a place to carry on with criminal activities such as these...yea right!!!

The blame for this lies squarely on the voting constituencies's shoulders...

Hopefully these ignorant folks will experience the same level of service these victims did and we can go ahead an get the gene pool cleaned out so that somebody can move ahead with some progress

To comment on 1:11 analysis or question. It does seem like between those waiting for trial and the murders, a big hole in the "gone bad" populations should have been created. Of course, if Schuler-Smith does not get busier, we will have no improvement because all criminals will be out on bond.

The only good thing in all of this is that the "victim who is now deceased" (JPD cop speak) was driving a Nissan. We need to keep those non-Union employees making quality vehicles.

Victim in #1 was out on bond on a murder charge-

A listing of all the shootings on 220 over the last 10 years would be interesting. I bet you could make a pretty fly spreadsheet, maybe a pivot table or two.

It really doesn't matter whether the perps are arrested or continue to roam free like animals in a concrete jungle RSS will do NOTHING to bring them to justice!

Would one of you who blame the new mayor please explain your logic in how he could have prevented these events?
What words could he have said that will prevent a crazy person or criminal who is easily armed from being a criminal or a crazy person?
Did you expect all the crazy people and criminals to leave town or turn in their guns?
If you want to stop crime, you might start with understanding how it is people become criminals or how it is crazy people are out loose.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
