Following the union money

The UAW went down down in defeat yesterday in Canton after it spent a great deal of time and money trying to unionize the plant.  See where the UAW spent it's money in the spreadsheet posted below.

Scum!

It looks like the local UAW and the local NAACP are two in the same.

Lots of $ to Derrick Johnson and Ronnie Crudup, some direct payments and some through cutout companies; $100K to Dr. Isaac Jackson, pastor of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church for speaking on behalf of UAW; plus other civil rights groups. If this is authentic and accurate, it paints a very cynical picture about the civil rights angle to this union organizing effort.

Anonymous said...

Odd. What the heck does the civil rights movement got to do with union organizing?

Anonymous said...

both are similar businesses

@6:20 for the most part, they wanted to use race as a reason to get into Nissan. Since most of the workers there are black, they tried to use the "you're being treated unfairly cuz you're black" bullshit.

Anonymous said...

6:20, unions have nothing to do with civil rights and everything to do with building political power, but Danny Glover sure tried to make that connection. The workforce is smarter than the union gave them credit for, and another positive outcome is that the money they spent trying to organize the Nissan workers can't be spent somewhere else. Sorry UAW - go sell your racist bullshit narrative somewhere else.

If at a civil rights issue, these preachers should be speaking out for free. I think we all see what this really is.

Anonymous said...

Bernie Sanders, Danny Glover, Stokes, Truly, Chukwe, and the crew hammered on this
being a civil rights issue. Already filed grievances against Nissan for wrongs during
the voting process. Most assuredly will try again to get a union voted in. Might take
couple yrs to reorganize, but are not finished trying.

I'm so glad the UAW and their "low information" minions are butt hurt.

Thanks to all the Nissan workers that voted no.

No different than all these organizations and individuals in other areas - a giagiant shakedown.

Preachers and their black churches - shakedown
NAACP - shakedown
Derrick Johnson and his personal income charity - shakedown (that's two for two with Derrick, counting the NAACP)
Black politicians - shakedown

But - that's all the union amounts to, one big shakedown of the lowly workers, so that those on top can live in luxury.

No reason that the union, these preachers, these organizations, and these politicians shouldn't all be in bed together, they are all in the same business. And it has nothing to do with improving the lives of workers, congragents, constitutents, or members.

46,000 for rental cars in one year?

It was reported on a local news station that he UAW filed numerous suits against Nissan after the votes were tallied.

So....if I'm arrested at 7:00 pm on Friday, why is it I'm not allowed to see a judge until Monday morning,?!!!. Point is how did this judge just happen to be at "work " at 7:00 pm on Friday night?

Can I also ask is this an issue about money and who can afford to o buy a judge?. Does anyone else beside me see anything wrong with this?
Damn glad the vote didn't pass to allow unions....my problem is with the ***damn legal system and why judges and attorneys were working past 5:00 on Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Just about every vehicle lobbying for the union outside the plant was from out of state. There were a lot of commenters on the Facebook pages of local news stations for the union were crime people outside of the state. It's a money grab for the union, not for the people working there. Lumba Lite and benny kept some people that work for Nissan thinking they were slaves to Nissan, while not realizing they were voting for the union to be their slave master.

Anonymous said...

What judge and attorney was ready to file a suit at 7:00 pm on a Friday night? If you get arrested on Friday you have to wait until Monday to see him/her....

Anonymous said...

The charges filed were not filed with a Judge. Catch up here - this is an issue dealing with National Labor Relations Law. Charges are filed with the NLRB, not with a Judge. The charges that were filed had to do with b/s claims that the UAW is making about improper activities during the organizational campaign. Typical tactic for a union in such cases.

But for a primer for the simpletons that think all charges have to be filed with a Judge and that Judges cannot be found over a weekend. (1) the charges are not filed with a Judge; (2) Judges are available over a weekend even though that has nothing to do with this situation; (3) charges aren't filed with Judges in other situations either, again having nothing to do with this situation. (Think being arrested for DUI - those charges are not filed with a judge at the time of arrest.)

Go back to watching L&O and see if you can get thru your first year of law commentary

that's an insane amount of hotel rooms. And I assume the payments to the Links would be rent for apartments?

unions were a great idea--when people worked for 2 cents a day and started work at 9 years old. we have labor laws now--good for the workers at Nissan who realized that the UAW wanted to turn Canton into Detroit south..

Anonymous said...

If they don't want equal bargaining power they don't have to have it.

They will learn.

UAW thugs need to be sent back to Detroit and take Bennie, Bernie, Chokwe, Danny Glover and the rest of the butt hurt Hillary supporters with them. Mississippi does NOT need their bull$hit. Playing the race card doesn't work with the decent hard working majority of black people here. Go on back where you came from. You lost! Just like Hillary.

Anonymous said...

The union and the so called civil rights organizations and too many of these
preachers have the same idea in common: poor people need paid "leaders" to
think for them. Especially when the "poor" come into some money. That is their hustle. Never try thinking for yourself. If we're not thinking and speaking for you, you must be getting mistreated. Throw off your shackles and give us some of that money. Workers Unite!

Anonymous said...

So . . . since Chokwe ventured up into Madison County to support these ignorant Union backers, I'm assuming the rumors about the new tire plant leaving Hinds County before they even get started are true ?

Anonymous said...

Junior needs to focus on being Mayor and not on UAW bullshit.

Anonymous said...

I had the occasion to visit the UAW Offive in Detroit. Not one black face in evidence. They collect not protect.

Anonymous said...

Continental Tire should cease all construction. They can cut their losses and leave now before it's too late.

Anonymous said...

The unions like the NAACP were once the hope and salvation of exploited people. Even now there are some instances when working class people need to organize to
protect themselves from unscrupulous business management. But these unions and
organizations like the NAACP have become business organizations in their own right
set on putting out fires where there are none as long as they get their cut. It's
a shame because you never know when a real fire will break out.

If these "activists" are really sincere, they should not be too discouraged. There
are plenty of low paid, dead end employees in Mississippi they can help organize.
Might not be so famous or profitable though.

30 days in. What has Mayor Second Coming accomplished beyond peering into sinkholes for the cameras, preening for the internees in Ladd's reeducation camp, going vegan and wasting time on a UAW matter that does nothing to fix Jackghanistan?

Anonymous said...

Site work has already begun on Continental Tire. Those rumors are just that:Rumors. Fact is it's being built as we speak.

Anonymous said...

Fact is, construction can be stopped, or indefinitely suspended, anytime the owner so chooses. Odds are, they aren't worried about unions. The first thing they have to have is plenty of water. 518 gallons per tire kind of water.

None of us dummies will understand the full scope of the Union defeat until Matt Steffey appears on camera, slicking back his hair, and hemming and hawing on Gallo and WLBT.

What is the source of this financial data? Inquiring minds want to know.

Anonymous said...

UAW pensions are really in trouble, without growth via invading the non union plants and companies the union pensions are toast. It is sad that Nissan always seems to be a race entered approach, very sad. Glad the Nissan employees continue to vote No!

Anonymous said...

"If they don't want equal bargaining power they don't have to have it."

What the hell does that even mean? Equal to what? To whom? Are you of the opinion that the voice of employees should EQUAL the voice of the people who own the business? That's exactly the mentality that ruins businesses where unions exist. They actually believe it's a situation of CO-Management. They have no skin in the game but want to run the business.

Anonymous said...

So looking at this, there apparently is a Union post in Brandon and Pearl. The one in Pearl listed at 183 Chotard Avenue, is in a residential area. Makes you wonder.

Am I missing something? I see no expenditures for 2017.

Poor Kamikaze Franklin has his feelings all hurt about it. He forgets his "white privilege" upbringing and education opportunities.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
