Ridgeland suffers Tomie Green's "blessing"

Ridgeland's "serial robber" who was arrested last week was turned loose by Judge Tomie Green after he was convicted of two counts of armed robbery.   Ridgeland police arrested Blessed Adams for  strong-armed robbery, possession of marijuana, failure to yield to the police, and simple assault last week after he maced a clerk and then stole money from Old Canton Liquor and Wine.  Ridgeland Police Chief John Neal called him a "serial robber".  The Madison County Journal reported:

The Ridgeland Police Department in conjunction with Jackson Police apprehended a Jackson man earlier this afternoon, shortly after he allegedly robbed an Old Canton liquor store. The man is believed to be connected to other incidents in Ridgeland and surrounding jurisdictions.

Blessed Adams, 23, of Jackson has been arrested and charged with strong armed robbery and simple assault after he pepper sprayed a clerk at a liquor store and made off with money from the register at Old Canton Liquor and Wine.

Police Chief John R. Neal said during a press conference Wednesday evening that Adams was apprehended within thirty minutes of the 911 call being placed....

Neal said his department received a report of an incident at Old Canton Liquor and Wine that a man had come in and asked for a bottle on the shelf behind the cashier. When the cashier turned around he sprayed her with pepper spray and took all money from the cash register and left in a gray Dodge Avenger...

Neal said officers responded to the area “immediately.” He said they quickly identified the vehicle at the Shell Station on Ridgewood Road in Jackson and kept it under surveillance. He said they noticed a man, matching a description given at the liquor store, leave the Shell station and get into the vehicle.

Neal said the suspect quickly recognized the officers were onto him and turned into Town and Country Apartments off County Line Road in Jackson where he fled on foot.

Neal said he was tracked and apprehended by a canine unit in the backyard of a nearby house on Mossline Drive.

“These jurisdictions work very well together. Units from Jackson PD and Ridgeland were looking for him and when we get close like this we are not going home until we catch them,” Neal said.

Neal said he was a “serial robber” in the metro area and is being sought for questioning by investigators from Jackson, Florence and Madison.

“We had a meeting here a while back with investigators from several jurisdictions and we compared notes and several other guys had details that match Adams’ MO so he could be charged in other jurisdictions as well,” Neal said.

Neal said they expect to connect him to a knifepoint robbery at Mac’s Gas Station in December... Rest of the article.
Serial thug is the better description for Blessed.  He was indicted for two counts of armed robbery that were committed in December 2014.  He used a gun to rob both the Family Dollar Store on Raymond Road and the Dollar General Store on West Northside Drive.  He was convicted of both armed robbery charges on August 30, 2016.

However, Hinds County Circuit Judge Tomie Green blessed Blessed and turned him loose to go back on the prowl. She sentenced him to fifteen years in prison but suspended all fifteen years and ordered him to be released immediately.  She placed him on supervised probation for three years.  She justified this treatment by stating in her order that he had completed the RID program.  A few weeks of yelling and doing pushups gave Blessed the blessing he needed from his redeemer in Judge Tomie Green.

Kingfish note: You read that correctly.   Adams is twice convicted of armed robbery with a gun and Judge Green immediately turns him loose to terrorize law-abiding citizens in the Jackson area.

MDOC and the Hinds County District Attorney should go to court RIGHT NOW to ask Judge Green to remove the "suspended" part of that fifteen year suspended sentence and put Blessed back in jail.  This case would be a good one for Robert Shuler Smith to use to embarrass Judge Green and protect the rest of us from this thug.  This case is one more example of Judge Green going easy on criminals.  The problem is the rest of us have to suffer whenever she screws up.  Heaven protect us from the Hinds County criminal justice system.

Why do I feel like everything Tomie does is done to "get back at Whitey"?

Like RSS is capable of doing anything right.

"Going light on criminals" is an understatement. This is total abrogation of duty and violation of oath of office. Is there no group/body that can address this total lack of judgment and abandoning of oath?

Kingfish, you made a bad mistake. You called that person a judge. There is no way that person should be called a judge. Maybe some good citizen will put a stop to his criminal ways. Now days that is all we have to count on. Law enforcement is a joke.

And it'll be a race issue when he attempts to rob another person and they shoot him.

Just like the little boy who's been to juvie 7-8 times and ended up dead trying to break into Mr. Parish's employees vehicle.

Like it or not, very very few turn their life around and quit thugging.

9;02 Because you know that Tommie knows all perpetrators will be black and all victims will be white. Simple.

But his MAMA said; "HE SUCH A GOOD BOY; HE DID'T DO ANYTHING WRONG"!!!!!

Green is a disaster. Why do you Jacksonians keep electing her? She is one reason, among several, that Jacksonians are suffering so much.

One thing that is buried in the orders and forms that may not stand out at first glance is that the court ordered "Release Defendant Today." Is this a common directive in these kinds of orders and notices?
If not, then this part stinks to high heaven.

How has no one complained to the judicial committee? Does that still exist?

Anonymous said...

Did the judge let him out so he wouldn't miss any of his college classes?

Anonymous said...

Judge Green get that kid out of jail and put him under house arrest, at YOUR HOUSE JUDGE!

Anonymous said...

A good example of Greens being doused too heavily with fatback.

Anonymous said...

Glad he's back in Ridgeland where he obviously belongs.

Anonymous said...

But wait, he's in Madison county jail right now since this occurred in ridgeland right?

When will this so-called judge be up for re-election?

Doesn't matter.

(You must not be from around here)

Why is this the fault of law enforcement, as someone mentioned earlier? The defendant was found guilty and sentenced. This judge released the defendant without him serving his sentence. I'm sure JPD was upset to find out that their work was nullified by this action.

God bless and protect our law enforcement officers who get these people off the streets, while risking their lives, only to have them released. Chief Neal in Ridgeland and Chief Vance in Jackson do a great job. I've heard Chief Vance state that he knows by an M.O. when a certain criminal has been allowed back on the streets by the judicial system.
Somehow, "Judge" Green has a good son, Synarus. He must have a good father that he takes after.

Green is the new black said...

If he causes harm to anyone, Judge Green should be personally liable.

Some of you privileged assholes just don't understand the concept of social justice. Judge Green understand the challenges that young Mr. Adams has faced up until this point in his life. She can see how he might feel angry at those who have treated him like he was invisible or even worse feared him, while never failing to look for any way to profit off of him and his people. The program she ordered him to participate in was designed to instill discipline, something he obviously needs but never got because he didn't have a father or access to quality schools. No one complains when a rich kid gets sent there for something that would have sent most poor kids (and that's what young adults really are these days) to prison. Judge Green's heart was in the right place, and I am glad we have someone like her willing to help make a difference in young people's lives.

This young kid has made decisions that involve criminal behavior. As a judge, Judge Green should uphold the law. She is not a social worker or a licensed therapist. If she wanted to give this person a second chance, then she is in the wrong profession. What if he had killed someone?

Kingfish said...

At the rate he was going, he was going to get killed.

2:23 - Judges are supposed to rule with their brain, not their heart.

The RID program is where I guess he was sent but RID was never meant to address the problems of violent offenders- It was a disciplinary program for misguided youth who are car burglars or thieves- she sent a two time gun toting armed robber to this program- It obviously had no impact on this thug whatsoever- So she thumbed her nose at the work that law enforcement did to put these cases together and most importantly, threatened the safety of whoever he chooses to be his next target- Why doesn't law enforcement say something about this judge?

2:37, for what it is worth - Tomie Green WAS a social worker with the DMH from '78 to '80. From "80 to "81 she was a DMH "Service Coordinator", though I have no idea what services she supposedly coordinated.

Hopefully Ms. Green showed a hell of a lot better judgement as a social worker & service coordinator than the judgement she has shown as a judge.

2:23, I don't know where her heart was but I do know where her head is. Up her own ass.

She sentenced him to the RID program, so its not correct to say that she sentenced him to no jail time. He completed the program or he would have served 15 years. You may not like the sentence. You may say if you were judge, you would have given a different sentence. But its not correct to say that she didnt do her job or that she sentenced him to no jail time.

Anonymous said...

Obviously, whatever she sentenced him to, it did not work. Glad he's in Madison County now and probably won't be back in the general population anytime soon. Rumor has it that she only gets to one or two cases per month.

Anonymous said...

The RID program is NOT 'jail time', dumbass! He went home to the hood at night.

Anonymous said...

Speaking of 'social workers', this whole concept of suspended sentences for time spent in feel-good programs is nothing more than another failed stab at social experiments. Somewhere out there, there's a judge or two who recognizes bull shit when he/she sees it. You don't coddle thug-punks who are about to blow your damned head off your shoulders!

That would be akin to suggesting Gitmo prisoners have been rehabilitated and will just go home and open a fruit stand.

Is judge green on the RSS payroll

Anonymous said...

Did she write a poem too?

Anonymous said...

Looks like Green is overdue to appreciate what's it's like to be a victim.

When will MS GOP realize they can impeach judges? That'll be a cat fight when it happens.

Those sentenced to RID do not go home at night. They are incarcerated until completion or dismissal from the program, then they are sent back to the sentencing county and judge for resentencing based on the outcome of their RID participation.

That isn't true 9:39. They spend some nights at the hoose-gow under the guise of doing group activities and focus group shit. But they are allowed home visitation twice a week. I'm told these releases are termed 'dismissals for familial circumstance'. When Frank Melton was in office, some of them stayed overnight at his pad. Another kind of focus group.

Thanks for the correct info @ 9:39 AM.

In years past, RID required a boot camp experience. Now participants only attend "classes" for 6 months and they're done. I imagine those classes are instructed by someone just trying to get their 40 in.

Anonymous said...

I doubt that RSS can use this to pick at Judge Green since his ADA (Sue Perry) agreed to the plea deal.

Anonymous said...

4:44 Sue Perry wasn't working at DA office in 2015 when Blessed was sentenced to RID. You best check your facts before you point fingers I have yet to meet a prosecutor who approves of Judge Green's leniency

Anonymous said...

Not the same Sue Perry.

Judge Green was a disaster in law school. She was provided with a tutor as part of her scholarship and still graduated w less than a 3.0.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
