Thanks for posting, even if it was paid for. This should be very enlightening and should show the world that "yard sign guru" Charles Barbour is a dud.

Anonymous said...

I don't totally disagree 10:06, but he and Dorsey Carson will be the ones that totally wear out shoe leather on this, neither can lose another race. This will be quick and Barbour will remind the Ward that Dorsey is Obama's biggest contributor and has Marshand Crisler's campaign team hired. Amile Wilson and Ashby Foote are nice and Foote would be the best councilman but when was the last time the best man for the job actually won a race??

Anonymous said...

People underestimate Charles Barbour.

Anonymous said...

Some jobs call for a Charles Barbour and this may be one of them

2:24. ROFLMFAO.

Anonymous said...

I recently meet Richard Sellers as he was canvassing around parham bridges and was very impressed. Interested if he will be part of the forum. Also, how many time has Barbour run for office?

Anonymous said...

3:12, I sort of agree with the first post but these others make a lot of sense. Barbour was elected Supervisor covering Ward 1 twice. Lost his "moveup" race to Lynn Posey and then lost a close race to Will Longshanks who had the majority R votes. I personally think he will do much better than people think. At least he'll throw a wrench and stop some of the madness down at City Hall. Carson will rubber stamp whatever to get black votes for his "moveup" race which we all know he wants.

If you gotta protect your boy KF from being chided about stupid shit he's saying on the radio then he ain't a candidate with remotely a chance.

At least he'll throw a wrench and stop some of the madness down at City Hall.

Tell us how one vote stops the madness.

Kingfish said...

No, 4:05. It was funny the first half a dozen times. Repeating the same thing over and over doesn't make you smart or funny.

Fontaine Emperor said...

No Mr. Kingfish Wizard. That isn't it at all.

Your candidate made a campaign claim that he was the best man for the job specifically because he had Josh Gregory's phone number and could call him any time to help the City of Jackson.

Your candidate made his special access to Gregory -- a part of his broader claim of a superior connectivity to Mississippi's GOP power brokers -- a campaign issue that, ostensibly, separated him from the rest of the candidates. He said it was a key reason to promote him to the City Council.

It is only now when someone is bringing attention to the foot lodged squarely in Wilson's mouth that you don't want anyone else to figure it out. That isn't funny or smart.

Anonymous said...

Ummm. 7:20. Keep up. Wilson isn't KF's man. Damn. Keep up.

Anonymous said...

You BE ignorant 8:19 PM.

Anonymous said...

I don't think a church should be holding this kind of event.

Anonymous said...

Speaking of getting it through your thick skull, other than Phil Bryant, what or who is Josh Gregory?? Somebody who knows nothing about nothing.

Anonymous said...

See this morning that many of the campaign signs Chuckie put in people's yards Wednesday night without their approval have been removed.

Dorsey Carson said...

@12:09 I'm thankful that I did what little I could for my friend Ray Mabus in his cabinet bid, and proud of his service. Ingalls is going full steam, and the renovations of the Navy Reserve Building downtown look great. I'm pretty sure that my $1,000 six years ago was not Obama's "biggest" donation. I just hope to avoid a runoff so that I can join the SecNav again at Army/Navy in December. Go Navy!

Anonymous said...

So Dorsey says he a D??

Anonymous said...

Dorsey, step away from the keyboard. First of all, this race has nothing to do with Ray Mabus other than what you're about to id'd with being a democrat in the most Republican ward in MS. Second, you've got a much longer tail on your democrat contributions. Third, you lost every Army and Air Force vote in the ward. Nice work.

Anonymous said...

Hey Dorsey, are you still the lawyer for the state or hinds county democratic executive committee??

Anonymous said...

...the most Republican ward in MS

Your ignorance is not surprising.

Anonymous said...

Dorsey, try $1,600 Lying already? #ObamaTrainedYouWell

Anonymous said...

Here you go folks: http://majorityinms.com/2011/11/05/dorsey-carson-gave-1600-to-obama/

Anonymous said...

The opposition is sounding mighty worried about your candidacy Dorsey.

Anonymous said...

Maybe because Dorsey is that dangerous.

Anonymous said...

Don't see how Ward 1 could fall apart even more with Dorsey than the current shit poor condition it is in now after decades of Republicans pretending that their one single solitary vote on the City Council was somehow relevant.

4:42 look around. Ward One is boiling with energy and investments. New homes constructed everywhere, the District at Eastover, Whole Foods, growth at Highland Village, formation of LeFleur East....hate to ruin your day, but we like it here just fine....oh, did I mention, no cookie cutter subdivisions?

Anonymous said...

@ 5:02 - God bless the almighty Whole Foods. Highland Village is only remodeling due to the District. Niche shopping centers can't bring back Ward 1. It doesn't matter how nice Whole Foods, Highland Village and the District are if once you go across the interstate the thugs run wild.

New home construction in Ward 1 is a 1/100th of the surrounding areas. Say what you will, but cookie cutter subdivisions bring a tax base to the burbs, something that has been eroding in Ward 1 for decades.

Most families are not interested in living in a city that is infested with crime and a lousy school district.

9:43. Feel better now? EYHO.

Anonymous said...

Don't sweat it October 28, 2014 at 9:43 AM. In Uncle Ben's Dixiecrat mind Ward 1 is only the dwindling square miles where the white establishment Republicans live.

I'm going to enjoy going to this event. I'm part of the critical mass 25-30 year olds that is on the fence about moving to Hawkinsville or staying in town. Crime is real, concerns about dropping $150,000 on a house that may lose value instead of gain it are real, and the perception that the Heatherwood area is either going to sink or swim in the next five years is real. I want somebody to sell me on Jackson, because I enjoy the area as an unencumbered adult but I'm nervous as hell about buying a home and raising kids in the area. People in my demographic are going to save or kill this city and we are tired of the St. Andrews Drive crowd telling us to donate money but never actually giving us real world results.

Anonymous said...

I'll allow that my brain is a bit fuzzy....took a while to figure out Hawkinsville (first thought that it was over by the old airport).

Anonymous said...

... we are tired of the St. Andrews Drive crowd telling us to donate money but never actually giving us real world results.

[And] the RINO curmudgeon @ the end of Meadowbrook who feigned illness to duck out of office right before his 'temporary' property tax increase became a permanent burden.

Anonymous said...

Anyone else listen to Ben Allen this morning? Sellers was on and it was good to hear a fresh point of view. Foote last week didn't say a lot. Looking forward to tonight.

Anonymous said...

@ 1:01 PM - In my mid 20s, I bought in the Heatherwood area and lost about 25K (about 25% of the total value) when I sold. In the time I was there I saw the widows move out and sell their houses for next to nothing driving the property values down further. People who bought those houses didn't fix them up as I hoped. It really is a nice, affordable area of NE Jackson, but it is being overtaken. It's worth mentioned that me as well as every neighbor I kept up with and other friends in the neighborhood had their outdoor storage broken into. JPD was of no help other than the initial response to take report.

The reality is JPD is maintaining Fondren and Belhaven at a better rate that their part of NE Jackson. I would have never guessed that would be the case in 10-15 years ago.

Anonymous said...

2:05 I listened as well. Sellers surprised me. He sounds like his middle name is Energy.

I am looking forward to it too.

@ 1:01 PM & @ 2:12 PM
There is a reason why the self-annointees @ the LeFleur East Foundation (aka Leland's Last Stand) set their northern boundary @ Hanging Moss Creek.

Anonymous said...

4:04 is again obsessing. Working to make our community better!!

So encouraging he is!

Anonymous said...

Since he has made it a centerpiece of his campaign will Mr. Smart Budget be able to show actual CofJ financials that prove out the budgetary neutrality of his JPD GI Bill?

It wouldn't be smart, would it, to say it is neutral unless you can prove it is neutral.

Does he even know exactly how many JPD officers have earned 2-year or 4-year college degrees?

Anonymous said...

4:36 why don't you and your smart ass self run? BECAUSE YOU LIVE IN MADISON AND LOVE TO STIR SHIT UP.

Anonymous said...

Charles Barbour disgusts me. And to those above who suggest his "squirreliness" (to put it nicely) is a quality which could help get the job done, you are part of the problem.

Anonymous said...

That is why I got out in 1995; was in the criminal justice/legal field and could see the hand painting on the wall, and then, as now it breaks my heart. Many say that I should have stayed but I have a family to consider. I give my days to the "bold new city" but I am about done with that too.

Anonymous said...

Is it wrong that I like Wilson because he doesn't sound like a broken GOP record? Foote gives me the same vibe that he actually wants to improve the area instead of use the position as a GOP establishment launchpad. Wilson's drive seems to equal Foote's and I'm between the two at the moment.

Anonymous said...

You turds should have come to this. You too KF.

Anonymous said...

Nah 8:05. Too easy sitting on the sidelines and being a dickhead.

Anonymous said...

At this point in time Wilson lacks the gravitas for the job. If you think that he doesn't want to use the job as a "GOP establishment launchpad" then you are naive.

Anonymous said...

8:26 Be real - some of us have serious money on the Giants.

Property values in Jackson dropped for many reasons, one because they dropped all over the country with Obama's economy. I believe some of you need to look to the District Attorney and to the Courts instead of heaping it on JPD every time. My money is on Foote and Wilson. Foote is a finance person who would bring years of experience to the position. Wilson would fit in with the young team that is on the move and running Jackson. Carson defended voter fraud, in my opinion. He's just too sophisticated to get his hands dirty in the drudgery of Jackson's problems. It really is more than a part time job to be a Councilman. Lots of committee work and lots of constituent problems to solve. Vote for someone with energy and time. And, all the council only have one vote -- so why are some of you acting like that vote does not make a difference. Party affiliation does not matter quite so much at the local level when every day is trying to make ends meet.

@ 9:01 PM - "Property values in Jackson dropped for many reasons, one because they dropped all over the country with Obama's economy"

So Obama is the reason they are dropping in Jackson, then how are rising once you get 3-5 miles from the city limits? I disapprove of Obama, but you can't blame the property values dropping on him.

It's simple economics... supply and demand. Lot's of supply in Jackson and little demand (for sale signs all over NE Jackson). In the burbs, they are building houses due to the little supply since there is high demand.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
