Collection of all posts on Frazier case
A recent court filing states:
NOTICE OF HEARING as to Austin W. Frazier, Cresco Elmore Frazier, Jr.: The defendants having announced to the Court that they wish to change their plea, Change of Plea Hearing is set for 9/16/2013 at 02:00 PM in Courtroom 6C (Jackson Guirola) before District Judge Keith Starrett. (scp)
Looks like father and son going to plead guilty.
Meanwhile, Claiborne Frazier and Spencer Copeland filed motions asking for criminal records of all defendants and any agreements made with any defendant. Mr. Frazier also asked to sever his case from the prosecution of Spencer Copeland. The court reset Claiborne Frazier's trial to October 7.

Remind us who the attorneys are for each?
So daddy (CE) and Austin will plead guilty. Claiborne and Spencer are still hanging out there. I have to expect that Claiborne is the most guilty of the whole bunch and Spencer is the least (tho still guilty).
The plot thickens . . .
I think 3:59 is right. Claiborne probably thinks they have enough to send him away for a long time, and Spencer probably thinks they don't have enough on him to get a conviction. CE and Austin must have been culpable, but there may have been some deals made for minimal or no jail time. They have no immunity and it's my understanding that can be forced to testify against Claiborne. A deal may have just loosened things up somewhat.
some horses have found shelter in the barn.
Kingfish, thanks for the update! Looking forward to how this plays out...on a side note, I see Austin's ex-wife AKA the Miskelly girl has returned to hawking furniture on TV
Claiborne and Spencer won't be convicted. Not enough evidence
"Not enough evidence?" I think you need to do some reading on this site. For starters, it will be interesting to hear their explanation for hiding bulldozers at their various deer camps.
And for Spencer to come up with a legitimate reason for making various cash deposits into his mom's bank account . . .
Billy was one of the great gentlemen whose reputation and approach was fully sullied by the debauchees like Rickey, Brandon, David, Bobby, Cecil, Matt, Dorsey, and Todd.
Colette represents Austin Frazier
For the record, Spencer Copeland is NOT the son of Nan FRAZIER Copeland. Nan is married to Spencer's father. She is his STEPmother. Spencer was a patsy in this grand scheme concocted by Austin and Claiborne. Spencer was taken advantage of by two older stepbrothers whom he looked up to. He was NOT (and never has been) in business with them. He works for his father's (not C.E. Frazier for those who can't follow) company, and it has nothing to do with construction or development. He was not aware of what his stepbrothers were doing. They used him to hide money, plain and simple, and if anyone has dealt with those two, they know that neither of them are above screwing over someone who loved and cared about them.
I agree with everything 11:34 said, except that Spencer was "not aware of what his stepbrothers were doing." That could theoretically be possible, but is highly unlikely.
I mean, "Take this chunk of money, deposit it in odd, smaller amounts into your stepmom's account, this is all legitimate, legal business" just strains credulity.
That said, I do feel sorry for Spencer.
So, 11:34, you're saying Spencer is just a big fat dumbass. Who could not think for himself. And had an identity complex.
So 2 defendants have cut a deal because they were offered one. Im assuming the other 2 were offered as well but refused. That says something...so now we see what will happen...my bet is the other 2 cases are either to complicated to get a guilty verdict or they dont have the evidence to convict.
All you idiots are posting anonymously bc you're too big of a coward to say who you are. You're the type of people who love to see people fall down. I am not saying the Fraziers aren't guilty of making really bad choices and hurting a lot of people, but believe me there is remorse. Maybe not Claiborne but the others. These men have children who will have to endure the pain of their dads being in jail and live under that cloud forever. Who are all of you to judge? My opinion is you love it that these rich kids are getting what they deserve, bc you've always been envious of their lifestyle, even when it was honest! As for Austin's ex you idiot, she's making a living for her and their children!!!!!!!!!!
hey anne why dont you go "spell check" face book or something. Or share your whole name...
9:50 - So the Fraziers feel "remorse" for their wrongdoing, or simply because they finally got caught? That's a critical distinction in this situation (and with these defendants).
Who are we all to judge? Well, "potential Frazier case jurors" is the first response that comes to mind. Also, in light of the facts that have come to light during this criminal prosecution, I doubt that their lifestyle could ever have been called "honest."
I am getting sick of hearing "who are you/we to judge". In the case someone's soul...I agree that we on earth can't truly judge that. But that does not mean that as individuals and as a society we can't or shouldn't judge someone's actions. The Frazier's are crooks. Anthony Wiener is a pervert. Bill Clinton is a liar. Johnny Football is disrespectful of authority. The evidence is clear enough...and society should not be discouraged from concluding the obvious.
These people may or may not be now, or become in the furture, redeemed souls. But their actions deserve judgement.
Stop hating on Johnny Football.
Seriously don't you'll have anything better to do than post stuff on here, LOSERS!!
And what about the Frazier's wives and children???? What about the wives and children they stole from!?! What about the families they harmed? They may be sorry now that they were caught, but what about the innocent victims that have suffered?
Imagine - people are actually coming on this site to defend the Fraziers. This in spite of all the facts formally acknowledged and informally discussed on this site and elsewhere about these guys. As well as the long list of Frazier project "investors" who got left holding a bunch of empty bags.
My take? There's no amount of proven stealing, lying, and/or cheating that would ever convince those apologists that their darling Fraziers are what they truly are.
Of course, the expected upcoming guilty pleas might present an opportunity for the above theory to be tested.
for those who think there's not enough evidence to convict you've lost any logical thinking you may have once had. the FBI doesn't come knocking with an indictment without a bag full of evidence. austin an c.e. are changing their pleas because of that. my guess is the offer presented to claiborne was too much jail time for him to stomach. i am a little surprised spencer hasn't changed plea as i suspect he'd get the lightest sentence/deal of them all. jail time is coming for some if not all of them
They will love the highlights in Claiborne nad Austin's Hair in prison.
Anne, your myopic, sanctimonious view is pathetic. What about the victims who lost money by fraud and common larceny...for years? What of their children? Did the fraziers worry about them, or were they cooking up more "bad choices"? Talk about being an idiot? Find a mirror.I hope when they bend over to pick up the soap in prison............
12:59 Don't tell me to look in the mirror!! My point was simply that people make "bad choices" terrible choices!! I am friends with some of the people who lost money and lied to. I never said they weren't guilty and don't deserve to be punished! How can you even talk about their children who are just as innocent as the people taken advantage of? People like to get on here and post their opinions, I bet half of these people wouldn't know one Frazier if they were sitting next to them!!!!
Anne
You said they were guilty of bad choices. That is wrong. They are guilty of crimes. And whether or not there is remorse isn't the point. They did the crimes and they need to do the time.
And yes, it is sad that their families must suffer. But that is the choice they made. Over and over and over. Over many years. That is no reason for leniency. You must know them and like them. That is fine. But that doesn't change the fact that they are criminals that need to face justice.
Agreed 3:53! They did commit serious crimes. Yes I know them well, I do not approve nor condone what they've done. I don't get on here often but when I do read the comments I'd be willing to bet most of these people haven't even laid eyes on any of them. Thanks!!
I know something you'll don't know!! You better do some research!!
anne I bet 95%+ of the folks posting on here know them & many of those know them well. I don't necessarily consider most posts "judging" but rather stating the obvious. Including you who know they're guilty of some serious crimes. Btw they're "lifestyle" you think so many are jealous of was provided to them by their family. It wasn't long after they began "working" on their own their lifestyle continued thru lying, cheating & stealing......I don't think anyone would be jealous of that
Will they be sentenced today?
