Two people were shot to death last night at The Hideway while other individuals were hospitalized with gunshot wounds. The nightclub is in Deville Plaza.
This is the third shooting incident to take place late at night in the parking lots of Capital City Grille and The Hideaway this year.
A Saturday night shooting took place outside Capital City Grille in April only to be followed up by a homicide at The Hideaway in Mary.
Is the parking lot of Deville Plaza becoming a killing field.

Dr. Chief will need to apply for another grant. Those new luxury SUVs, new office decor, and team-building conferences in Miami and Vegas didn't help.
Can the police look to see if they can find patterns in this type of violence? Recognizing patterns could be the first step to prevention of future violence.
Will the latest $175 million help with this in any way?
Can Jackson become "The City that Responds Before it Arrives" with what they already have, or does that require even more of other people's money?
This is why we have nice things in Madison snd Rankin County, but still makes me sad for Jackson and the victims.

The business can't be sued for failing to provide adequate security under the Mississippi Landowners Protection Act.
As long as the violence doesn't keep their clientele away, they have no financial incentive to stop it.

Is it a nightclub or just a space for rent? Jackson needs to enact an ordinance requiring promoters to have insurance and security guards and whatever else is needed. Someone said this was the same promoter who sponsored the "trail ride" where an 18-year-old female was killed. These promoters are making bank with no care for security. The fact that the City allows this to happen over and over and over again is ridiculous. We all know what happens.
The Landowner's Protection Act made it much harder to sue owners of property for acts of violence committed by third parties.

This place is full of evil and destructive people. No grant, church, police, studies, seminars, town meeting, intervention or anything else is going to stop savage mentality and behavior. If anything, use the grant to eradicate the savages by all possible means. Until this is done, along with eliminating all this blight, Jackson will continue to roast in the hell pit that started in 1997.
One time is too many, but at this point, this is a pattern, and this is where a city should be able to and must step in, intervene, and shut down these 2 establishments (even if temporary), while this is addressed. totally unacceptable, and if the city passed a ordinance that any establishment open past a certain time that has a shooting or any other violent crime, will be closed while under investigation and proper safety measures are in place. At a certain point, the city has to take a hard line stance. (but, look what they allowed Terrance Archie). This violence does and will lie solely at the feet of the mayor and city council
I am thinking that the consequences and remedy of this situation will be NOTHING and there will be another event like this a couple months from now. And then again. And again. And again. Nothing will happen to prevent this. The more little ghetto shitbox “clubs” that pop up across the city the more of this shit will happen. It’s why Woodland Hills/Fondren fought so hard against a “club” being put next to Brent’s Drugs in Fondren. Praise God that didn’t materialize.
I mean seriously. We are going to see this same caption on this same website at least once every three months for the rest of our lives probably. It happens in every city and especially lawless ones like Jackson. We will do nothing about it except laugh and complain on this website.
