1,813

Scott Colom's lead over Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith continues to grow as it reached 1,813 votes this afternoon.

If Colom pulls this off, it will be the political earthquake of the 21st century in Mississippi.

Madison County was not the only county where the Senator underperformed.  Republican Congressman Michael Guest received 2,149 more votes than the Senator in the Republican stronghold of Rankin County.

Mississippi Republican Party Chairman Michael Hurst said there are an estimated 17,000 ballots to be counted.  He said an election integrity team is making sure each ballot is properly counted or discounted.   The Chairman said he is "enthusiastic" about the ballots since many are in Republican areas.

Colom is a good Mississippi dude. Anyone who actually bothers to look into his record should be happy for some new energy.

It’s mostly hinds and delta? Some on coast. The expirian use hit AA the hardest and border people with jobs in other states.

Anonymous said...

Would be incredible if he wins by 1776 votes!

Anonymous said...

Aren’t affidavit ballots the key? Those who were not active on roll but who voted and then cured deficiency? Those are all AA voters by design. 15,000 plus? Colom is the winner if thats true

Breaking news: Mississippians are tired of the same ol' shit.

That is not the same thing as an endorsement for Colom, but it is a message to the Republican party to get to business or get out of office.

Anonymous said...

Phil Bryant and Cindy Hyde Smith own this from the get go

Anonymous said...

Cindy, save Mississippians the time, expense, and effort of a drawn-out count, and graciously concede. You didn't campaign as if you actually wanted the job anyway. Go home and sit on your porch like you said in your commercials.

Anonymous said...

I don’t care if he is a Black Democrat as long as he is an America 🇺🇸 First patriot and not on the obedient take from representatives of a foreign government!

Anonymous said...

Looking at his website, he has some beliefs I disagree with alot. However he also says he supports fully funding law enforcement and funding ICE. So that's something at least

Colom will do as told by Senate DNC, even if it is DSA.

Anonymous said...

Pray the Democrats keep the borders closed down.

Anonymous said...

The ole porch swing is just a swinging......

Anonymous said...

Colom will soon be hiring district office staffers, likely to be filled Fondren lefties.

Anonymous said...

Well....... finally the cows have come home

Anonymous said...

When the votes come in Scott is getting
twice as many as Cindy.

Anonymous said...

@3:29 wait until you find out about Qatar Force One.

Anonymous said...

Cindy was too busy sucking the wrong asses. Hope you use your millions to get a makeover.

Anonymous said...

Thanks, Deputy Feel. You and the Republican Party (state and national) think we have no choice but to vote for you. I guessuess you found out on Tuesday.

Anonymous said...

Thanks, Deputy Feel. You and the Republican Party (state and national) think we have no choice but to vote for you. Trump even said so. Guess you found out on Tuesday.

Anonymous said...

Pick another protein was CHS’s defining moment. People in the more affluent Madison & Rankin struggle too, to put gas in their car and grill burgers. Everything cost more and she and Trump are out of touch with it. Does she really go on junkets to Vegas ?

Anonymous said...

Meanwhile Mike Hurst, who somehow has a job at a midsize law firm, is getting in social media fights with Colom and threatening to do … something if he can (but maybe not).

Anonymous said...

Sad it came to this. Republican Party refused to allow any grassroots candidate to get traction. Wicker will be next. He is as much a do nothing as Smith.

Anonymous said...

However he also says he supports fully funding law enforcement and funding ICE.

He'll vote against ICE every step of the way as the Democrats look to resume their voter gravy train running from south of the border.

Anonymous said...

Maybe George can urge him $$$$$ to give Jody a job in 2030.

Anonymous said...

It appears Mississippi voters are voting based on individual candidates, not just the party. That's encouraging.

The MSGOP honchos have been running this state for so long, they seem to think they have the right to rule, like they can cram whatever they want down our throats, and we'll still vote for them.

Anonymous said...

2:52 - Are you serious? His campaign ran AI generated ads that were lies. The guy is douchebag.

That being said I am not a fan of CHS. But, Mississippi doesn't need that ahole in any position of power. He will run this nation further into the ground. F him.

Anonymous said...

Hey Scott give me a call I will hook you up with a nice ABNB near the Capitol, until you get set up!

Anonymous said...

17K absentee ballots to process is gonna take a minute..............

Anonymous said...

It is hilariously ironic how much the GOP is "counting on" these provisional and absentee ballots to bring home the win for Cindy Hyde Smith. Six months ago, they were talking out of the other side of their mouths, saying "most" mail-in and provisional ballots are fraudulent anyway and seeking to limit mail-in or absentee ballots.

Anonymous said...

All you RINOs who voted democrat don’t you complain when they open the borders, raise your taxes, take your guns and turn America into a socialist country.! YOU voted for this! You might not believe me now but in a few years you will regret your choice. You will complain about democrats but you’d LOST the right after you voted for them.

Anonymous said...

Will he still be a good dude when he supports socialism and vote to take your guns? Supports open borders?

Anonymous said...

Yes lets support socialist party who want to have open borders, gun control, high taxes and want a socialist government

Anonymous said...

That will NEVER happen! I blame all the stupid RINOs

Anonymous said...

I’m sure he’ll be just as good for the state as Bennie has been. It’s been a good run, but y’all better get ready. Demographics are destiny and Mississippi’s are… well… pointing toward some very dark times ahead. A certain segment of Mississippi’s Democrats will soon find out how badly they’ve been used when the flip is complete and they aren’t needed anymore.

Anonymous said...

I am in Rankin county and voted for Colom. Can any name anything Cindy did since she has been in congress?? Anything? She is awful. I like Wicker but she is horrible. She didn't have the balls to even have a debate. Feckless. Go home if you don't want to work for MS.

Anonymous said...

6:28 PM said: “A certain segment of Mississippi’s Democrats will soon find out how badly they’ve been used.”

6:28, a lot of African Americans have seen the light and there’s plenty of AA conservative Youtubers proving this like Anton Daniels, George A.A., DeVory Darkins, Brian Maxwell, A Righteous Perspective, Black Conservative Perspective, Brandon Lehman, Officer Tatum & others.

Having said this, the low income poor in Mississippi have been held down for so long they just lack the mental capacity to understand how much their dependence is required in order to keep people like Bennie and those running cities like Jackson in office. Civil Rights icon Robert L “Bob” Woodson has tried to educate them without success.

90% of blacks voted for Keisha Lance Bottoms to be their next Gov of Georgia. It wasn’t that long ago in our nation’s history her doing what she did as Mayor of Atlanta leading to the death of an innocent child, would have ended her political career forever.

We are at war with Evil.

Anonymous said...

So prices are about to come down, cheap gas, and free.99 healthcare!!!!

Anonymous said...

Yep!

Anonymous said...

6:35 - You are correct, Smith did little while in office. But just WAIT till you see what Colon does. Open boarders, cradle to the grave government dependency, and a mosque in Rankin county…

Anonymous said...

It changes the 2027 race for Governor. The rejection of the far right creates an opening for a moderate candidate like Gunn or Tommy Duff and a big opening for Brandon Presley.

Anonymous said...

nobody's fault but those that supported appointing Cindy in the first place. Any other republican would have won this race 60-40.

Anonymous said...

You should blame the stupid right wingers that put on the shit show the last two years.

Anonymous said...

Blame those who blindly supported the comedy show in DC the last two years with Dr. Oz, nut case RFK, and the Fox commentator named Defense Secretary.

Anonymous said...

Hegspeth and his shit show will be ousted within a week.

Anonymous said...

All you RINOs who voted for another Bennie Thompson for senator don’t say a word when votes to open border, raise taxes supports gun control and vetoes for every liberal bill

Anonymous said...

@6:07 - give it a rest with the bs, no one believes that crap. Isn’t it about time for you to start worrying about the deficit again anyways? Maybe try that one again instead.

Anonymous said...

@6:10 - you sound upset you missed out on the free $5000. Better luck next time.

Anonymous said...

6:28 I don’t know what you are talking about and I don’t think you do either. Last year MS added ~2.2k white people and lost ~3.7k black people. That is where the population loss comes from.

I am in Rankin county and voted for Colom.

LOL. Sure you are.

6:35 PM Well said. I'm sick of no-shows and expecting fealty to the almighty "R". If you don't even want to try you can sit your ass at the house on your own dime.

Anonymous said...

Some on here are hunters, gun owners and eat meat. Do you really think a liberal democratic will support your right to hunt? Own a gun? Even eat meat? Yea there are people who want to ban eating meat. Some of you who voted democratic SCREWED yourselves! Some liberal groups like PETA even believe you have the right to have a pet. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO COMPLAIN later when reality sets in! YOU voted for this!

Anonymous said...

Colom, represent YOUR STATE. BREAK with the dem caucus when the vote goes against the beliefs of your constituency. Do so and you might have a chance in the next election. Don't, and well, you do know Tate is around for another 2 years to appoint an empty seat. Citizens are sick and tired of feeling sick and tired.

Anonymous said...

6:07 - thinking you might not understand RINOs. They are the only reason CHS or Wicker have been in office as long as they have. The only thing I regret is that this wasn’t Wicker on the chopping block.

The low information crowd never looks beyond the tips of their noses. They voted for Colom as a vote against Bryant-Smith, not knowing or caring what that will mean in the long run. When the subject of open borders, creeping socialism, bogged down medical care and eradicating the police comes up, their answer is 'Who cares?"

Pause that thought. FAFO.

Anonymous said...

This wave is a one time thing. In Mississippi’s and other states. Wicker is fine and the GOP will sweep state elections next year. 2028 will be interesting for sure.

Anonymous said...

They forgot the same people that were in during Biden are in now. I wonder how the 8 Muslims in Congress will vote on all the trans items? Lol

Anonymous said...

Here is a little inside politics that they don't want you to know and you are trained to go against. Don't vote by party vote for the best person for the job and for our state. If 50 percent of us started thinking this way we would get something done in government. Say this to any politician R and D and watch them get very nervous

Anonymous said...

Dear Cindy,

I would explain to you why you lost, but you never listen to the average Mississippian anyway.

Sincerely,
Voter

Anonymous said...

4:49 do you just make stuff up and then flippantly comment to make yourself seem smarted? I am more likely than not, voting Democrat, but Wicker has been the most active Senator we've had in a long time. Sponsors all kind of legislation and is a committee chair.

Anonymous said...

If anyone thinks that Mr Colom is anything other than a far left Democrat, you are mistaken. He will vote lock sTtep in line with the AOCs, Squads, Shumers, Shiffs, etc. Don't kid yourself. He ain't all that and a bag of chips. He is simply a dem dog on a chain. The Republicans lost because that sat on their hands for two years and did very little, if anything. Trump, I think did what he had to do with Iran but bungled the job in the long run. Abdul is nothing but a hater of Jews and Israel, he going to do nothing but create chaos. Basically, is going to be a long two years. Nothing will change.

Anonymous said...

Mike Hurst looks like he might be regretting trading his integrity to be a MAGA lackey.

Anonymous said...

Some political expert is quoted on WLBT as saying this was a rejection of Trump's ballroom. Trump doesn't get it, and neither does Mr. Expert. It's a rejection of another no-win, no-end Middle East war, the kind Trump said he wasn't going to engage upon. It's a rejection of MIGA, not any rejection of MAGA. But don't look for any change. D, R, and their foreign bankrollers, they're all just ticks of a different variety.

Anonymous said...

Cindy, "turn out the lights, the party's over." (Don Meredith, 1970)

Anonymous said...

Hyde smith got her job by republicans campaigning at black churchs and scaring them into voting for the long term incumbent so he could resign and the party could assign the people a token woman. You guys took it like a submissive lackey and voted her back in. If you always vote the party, nothing will change. I hope people are getting tired of these shenanigans. You cannot fix stupid. You must try another tactic. Even if it means the Republican Party does it again and crams her back down your throat. Elections come again in 2 years. No change, no gain.

Anonymous said...

Substitute Cindy Hyde-Smith and right Republican in this sentence: "If anyone thinks that Mr Colom is anything other than a far left Democrat, you are mistaken. He will vote lock step in line with the [usual GOP shibboleths and bogeymen] ... " Draw your own conclusions.

Anonymous said...

Good fortune for you that you are anonymous. No one with a lick of sense would drop that sentence and want their real name known.

All of y'all saying something along the lines of "RINOs. its your fault!" are just as bad as all the far left nuts in terms of being willing to take accountability for your actions...MAGA fatigue and all that comes with it is very obviously the reason for a massive flip in power. It would be more accurate to call the MAGA crowd RINOs. Y'all aren't republicans, you're blind fools following the cult of MAGA who are now reaping what you sowed.

It’s amazing how racism will let people vote against their own self-interest. How many Billionaires are sharing their riches made off the backs of Mississippians? Who believes they should be able to put a Data Center in your backyard? Why can’t our farmers sell their crops? Why should we have to pick another protein ?

Anonymous said...

The term RINO is about as useful as the term Whigs or Know Nothings. Time to turn the page on your thinking.

Anonymous said...

I think everyone with a brain noticed that we had trouble finding anyone in Congress that would stand up to Trump. Speaking truth to power is part of the job and we don't need gutless wonders from either party who allow their leaders to spend our tax dollars on " re-doing" OUR HOUSE and destruction of OUR HISTORIC buildings and properties to suit his personal gaudy ideas. Trump saw " bending the knee to him" as the only qualification to work for a government job or appointment...experience and competence be damned! A genius MBA should have known he needed people who could give him information and knowledge he did have. Our best Presidents knew their "gut feelings" weren't the same a solid information!

Cindy 'Granny Clampett' Hyde-Smith was past her sell by date. She and the party just didn't realize it soon enough.

Senate terms are not 2 years. We are going to be stuck with Bennie 2.0 for 6 YEARS. Or until the DSA commies dissolve the senate and we become a full on totalitarian state. You people have no idea what you’ve done. But you will regret this

Maybe Leflore county Mississippi election results should be checked. My husband had to vote affidavit ballot. The ballot was tossed into a cloth totebag that was shoved against a wall. I checked on his ballot yesterday; first they could not find it, then they said it was being tallied. I noticed James Middleton’s friend and now county administrator, Ms. Stancil, was helping. Election commission must have been overwhelmed with affidavit and absentee ballots.

Hakeem Jeffries just got a new puppy. Thanks Mississippi GOP. The do nothing senator has been exposed. As bad as I hate to say it, those running for govenor in 2027 should start distancing themselves from Trump.

Trump lost it for everyone but he and his rich buddies of all parties. Arrogance. Childish gotcha games and AI slop all day. Anything but basic governance. Greed.

How about all that “private sector efficiency “ we are always hearing about? He and Musk have made billions off BS and Gubmint slop.

People were just damn well fed up with the entire White House already and then he started an idiot’s war. He’s a big fat baby and a fool. Loud mouth loser. That works in finance. But we are paying his bills to the tune of trillions. Tired of Stephen Miller the moron running things. Along with KegsBreath. Clowns.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
