The Clinton Police Department issued the following statement.
The Clinton Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection with a series of vehicle burglaries that have occurred throughout the city over the past month.
On Thursday, July 9, 2026, investigators with the Clinton Police Department developed evidentiary leads that identified a suspect believed to be responsible for multiple auto burglaries. The investigation led officers to Warren County, where 41-year-old Nicholas Brandon Perkins was taken into custody Thursday afternoon.
Perkins was arrested at his residence following the execution of a search warrant and arrest warrant with the assistance of the Warren County Sheriff's Office. The Clinton Police Department extends its sincere appreciation to the Warren County Sheriff's Office for its partnership and assistance during the operation.
Perkins will be charged with multiple counts of auto burglary. The investigation remains active, and additional charges may be filed as investigators continue to review evidence.
Police Chief Hayman commended the efforts of everyone involved in bringing the investigation to a swift resolution.
"I applaud the outstanding work of our officers, detectives and command staff who immediately dedicated themselves to this investigation and worked tirelessly to bring it to a successful conclusion," said Chief Hayman. "I also want to thank the citizens of Clinton who came forward with information and evidence. Their willingness to step up and assist our department was instrumental in advancing this investigation and ultimately led to this arrest."
Chief Hayman emphasized that the department remains committed to protecting the community and holding offenders accountable.
"The Clinton Police Department will continue to aggressively investigate crimes, deter criminal activity and do everything within our power to keep the citizens of Clinton safe."
