Gregg Trial: The Post-Game Show

Carly Gregg's attorney, Bridget Todd appeared on Attorney Melanie Little's Youtube channel today to discuss her client.  There has been no time today to watch it but if interested, it is posted below.

I started watching this and quit when I felt like gagging. Poor, innocent child. Victim of the backwards Mississippi legal system. No mention of her being a psychopath who murdered her mother in cold blood.

Robert Palmer sang a song about this….” A pretty face, don’t make a pretty heart” Well, you get the meaning. Todd was just using this as a springboard for her career. Whether she won or lost she will profit from it .

Anonymous said...

Ok, so the kid was a mental case, but that doesn’t giver her the right to kill her mom

Anonymous said...

Hi Bridget, I know you said that you didn’t follow the social media but here we are.

Anonymous said...

I agreee.. It was a horrific case but she definitely had issues. I’m not saying she was insane but the prescription dg she was taking was not meant for a 14 year old.

An open source to violate the attorney- client privilege

Camp and Todd both, showed their incompetence on big stage. Judge Arthur had way more patience than I expected.

Anonymous said...

She is appalled that the trial took place in 6 months. But if I’m not mistaken, it’s supposed to be within 100 days for federal defendants. So I don’t get the outrage.

If all the women in the house were so crazy and everyone knew it why were there guns just laying around?

There is so much that is wrong, evasive about this interview. Don't know even where to start. The knee slapper is the complaint about lack of proof of motive. They ignore the fact that there was no requirement to prove motive. They also don't point out that solitary confinement was for the defendant's protection. And as for all of this talk of depression, bi polar disorder, no discussion about the actual insanity defense in Mississippi. These two are off into their own universe.

Anonymous said...

The fact that she doesn't know that motive is not an element is all you need to know that she is out of her league. This PCCR should be interesting. The Camp-Todd divorce debt arrangement will be freeing many criminal D's in years to come

Anonymous said...

I think they need an Al-Anon meeting.

Total insanity or perhaps she will let Carly Gregg live with her or her children. Do not talk down about the jury Bridget. You are insane if you believe Carly’s lies. Let her put a gun to your head or a school full of children & see how you feel! I am sorry about your brother, however she murdered her mother and attempted to kill her step dad while tampering with evidence. The jury has spoken, please be amicable to their hard work!

Anonymous said...

PS Murder, Attempted Murder & Tampering with evidence are against the law. Even a lawyer should know that! Watch the video & see she is fully aware of everything after she killed her mom.

Gregg's attorney has a goal. The goal is to be hired by CNN. She will, no doubt, forward this tape to CNN hiring authorities in pursuit of that goal.

Greta Van Susteren got hired by Fox forty years ago following the OJ trial. She had covered the trial and became famous, as did Greg Jarrett. This gal is much more attractive and will slide right into the lineup.

@9:33 PM "Federal defendants?" Where did you get that from? This is Rankin County Circuit Court.

Anonymous said...

Mississippi seems to tolerate a lot more unethical or downright illegal behavior from lawyers than any other state where I have lived.

Anonymous said...

I was surprised to hear that both defense attorneys took the case pro Bono. I now comprehend why their responses and actions were delinquent and ineffective. Shirley they at some point had to feel "taking the deal" of 40 years, in this specific case, was the best option for this messed up teenager.

Anonymous said...

Fame is the goal for these attorneys. Not Justice.
Thankfully the judge was able to do his job and provide some level of competency to the room of mental midgets.

Anonymous said...

One of these days someone could write a book about how the Mississippi legal system grinds people up and spits them out. There might even be enough material for a literary career.

Anonymous said...

RFK Jr is avalable as well.

Anonymous said...

Admirable Judge showed Biblical temperament.

Anonymous said...

@9:49 pm, fully 10 percent of American women are certifiably and clinically insane; the other 90 percent just haven’t been diagnosed yet. Fact.

Anonymous said...

@11:59, the OJ trial wasn’t 40 years ago. In fact, it wasn’t even 30 years ago 😏

Anonymous said...

I couldn’t make myself watch this, but if the theory of the defense was that this young lady was not guilty by reason of insanity, was any expert evidence presented that at the time of the act she was insane under the M’Naughten test?

Anonymous said...

@11:59 PM Interesting theory, but as mentioned above, it wasn't 40 years ago and she went to CNN first, not Fox.

Anonymous said...

Is that your takeaway from the post, Gomer? It was 29 years ago. Pick that nit.

I have no idea what, if any, difference it would have made to the jury, but the defense was negligent in not putting a competent psychiatrist on the stand to speak to the warning of giving Lexapro to a person under the age of 25.

Um...er...OK. This "interview" should tell anyone all they need to know about the legal scholarship of both parties. I'd never heard of the interviewer, so I Googled her. From a very brief scan of the search results, I'm not sure if she considers herself an actress with a JD (I didn't look to see if she is currently licensed) or someone with a JD who wants to be an actress. If you would feel confident in an actor/actress who dabbles in thoracic surgery cracking open your chest, then you would probably feel confident with an actress-attorney who dabbles in the law. I have no issue with lawyers (JDs with bar cards rather than just a JD) being pundits or in any other income-producing role as long as they no longer accept clients, or at least clents who are not sophisticated enough to understand the potential problems and conflicts.

State bars better get in front of this before it becomes an even bigger problem then it already is. There are lots of lawyers (with bar cards) out there who aren't making the money they expected. While those lawyers moving into other fields is not a problem in and of itself, their attempting to be lawyer-(something-else) will be.

As long as Carlos the Clown walks free in MS, anything goes.

Anonymous said...

What an embarrassment to the legal system.

Anonymous said...

This is so cringe...Bridgette(and Camp), got made a fool of in the courtroom and now she's doing a PR campaign for herself. Just go home.

Anonymous said...

My thoughts exactly. It was a self-aggrandizing pity party by two defense lawyers.

Anonymous said...

No doubt that child is messed up and is guilty of the crime. But she received horrible defense representation with pathetic investigation into the nuts and bolts of a case that led to this very sad crime. We will see an appeal and this case will again be re-visited with allegations never alleged.....nor properly investigated, that will muddy the waters in the years to come.....

Kingfish said...

I'm 40 minutes in and have already spotted a half-dozen lies and half-truths.

Anonymous said...

@12:32 Kingfish, I hope you're making a list!

Anonymous said...

What was the theory of the “defense”, jury nullification?

Anonymous said...

I doubt they took this case pro bono. I really, seriously doubt it.

Anonymous said...

That woman is a great example of the Dunning Kruger effect. Apparently, she's lawyering pro bono in this case. Carly Gregg's family got exactly what they paid for.

Anonymous said...

Has anyone asked or can anyone explain why her defense attorney stipulated to competency to stand trial?

Anonymous said...

Ms. Todd is taking a page right out of Ivana Willams' playbook. Clearly drawing attention to herself to satisfy her pathetic narcisstic personality. All done at the expense of others to promote only herself

Anonymous said...

It’s a shame that these 2 lawyers were so caught up with wanting attention and to be on tv with this high profile case. Any non clout chaser would have said take the damn plea but that would have meant Ms scraggly hair wouldn’t get all this stage time.

Anonymous said...

If you feel the need to place the word “attorney” before your name, you should just fuck right off.

Anonymous said...

12:14 a.m.: I'll spell it out for you. I was analogizing this case, and the claim that it was rammed through without an opportunity to prepare a proper defense, to the federal system, which requires a criminal defendant to be tried in amount half the time. Get it?

In other words, the outrage at this case going to trial in 6 months is complete BS, especially from a youtuber who claims extensive litigation experience in criminal defense at the federal level.

And their client got her money's worth - every penny of it.....

From that reference you provided:

"Suicidal Thoughts or Actions. Escitalopram or other antidepressants may increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or actions in a small number of children, teenagers, or young adults in the first few months of taking the medicine or when the dose is changed. Depression or other serious mental health conditions are the most important causes of suicidal thoughts or actions. If you or your child is about to harm themselves, call 911 or call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Call your healthcare provider right away if you have any of the following symptoms."

The phrase "first few months" argues against serious, unforeseen side effects occurring in the few days she was reportedly taking the drug, if the testimony was accurate.

Is Todd the attorney who threw herself in front of her ex's car then tried to have him charged with aggravated assault which was eventually dismissed because you can't throw yourself in front of a car and scream assault? Spoiler alert: she is indeed.

anonymous said...

37 years as a street lawyer here............ms todd, take it from someone that knows........the only way to make your bones in this business is hard work. unfortunately for you ,that advise has arrived too late.

Anonymous said...

Oh Mississippi is often a joke with attorneys like Todd. She's on the 20th Circuit 4th post of the Mississippi State Bar Commission!

Wow said...

Yikes. The lack of self awareness in that YouTube video is hard to comprehend.

anonymous said...

been in this business almost 40 years and there are only about a half dozen attorneys in this state that can properly launch an insanity defense, and these two are not on the list.

Anonymous said...

This is the same Defense-Duo that represented Beth Ann White, the drunk who killed a mother and child on Highway 18. That only matters here because the defense was a similar clown show in that case.

Every defendant is entitled to representation, but not a clown-defense.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
