Baghdad Bob, move over. Mexican President Lopez Obrador claims fentanyl is not produced in Mexico. President Obrador peddled the fiction after a federal grand jury indicted 28 members of the Sinaloa Cartel for fentanyl trafficking and other crimes in April. CBS News reported:
The president of Mexico said Thursday fentanyl is not produced or consumed in the country despite abundant evidence to the contrary. CBS News contributor and N Más anchor Enrique Acevedo joins Nikki Battiste and Elaine Quijano to discuss what might have driven these comments and the effect they could have on drug enforcement efforts.The president of Mexico said Thursday fentanyl is not produced or consumed in the country despite abundant evidence to the contrary. To say the Mexican President was outraged over the indictments is no exaggeration. What drew his ire was the DEA's infiltration of the Sinaloa Cartel to obtain the indictments. It's almost like an Italian Premier defending the Mafia. Mexico News Daily reported on April 17:
President López Obrador has accused the United States government of “abusive interference” and espionage after the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) revealed that it had infiltrated the Sinaloa Cartel. The United States Department of Justice (DOJ) announced Friday that it had unsealed charges against 28 high-ranking Sinaloa Cartel members, including three known as “Los Chapitos” – the children of former Sinaloa Cartel leader Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán. DEA Administrator Anne Milgram told a press conference that the DEA “proactively infiltrated the Sinaloa Cartel and the Chapitos network” over the past year and a half. The law enforcement agency “obtained unprecedented access to the organization’s highest levels, and followed them across the world,” she said. Milgram also said that the Chapitos, one of whom is the recently-detained Ovidio Guzmán, “pioneered the manufacture and trafficking of fentanyl, … flooded it into the United States for the past eight years and killed hundreds of thousands of Americans.” President Obrador said the United States could "share" intelligence: “There can’t be foreign agents in our country, no. We can share information, but those who can intervene [in Mexico] are elements of the Mexican Army, the Navy, the National Guard and the federal Attorney General’s Office,”... López Obrador said that the DEA’s infiltration of the Sinaloa Cartel in Mexico amounted to “arrogant” and “abusive interference” that “mustn’t be accepted under any circumstances.” “How can they be spying! … Acts of espionage cannot be used,” he said. Article.
Hmm..... maybe the DEA doesn't want a bunch of dead agents or informants. The indictments do mention how the cartels had police, military, and government officials on the payroll. That might have a little something to do with the secrecy.

He is competing with Lying Lumumba.
Obrador has been bought and paid-for by the cartels. That, and has probably had his family threatened, too. Very sad for a country so rich in history, culture, and natural resources.
Obrador: "There is no fentanyl production in Mexico."
Lying Lumumba: "There are no gangs in Jackson."
How much better off would Mexican citizens be if all of Mexico had been ceded to the US in 1848, instead of just what is now the southwestern United States?
Mexico is Jackson on steroids.
How do you say "Chowke" in Spanish?
Da Prezadent mus stop smokin' dat dope.
Biden: "President Obrador, you are correct and thank you for pointing this out. It's the radical MAGA people who are making that poison. Hunter told me so, as he should know."
He's on the payroll. He wouldn't say anything else.
Never underestimate the greed of the human species.
Biden signed off on this project, saying he found the authority to do so in the 14th amendment.
Not sure why there is comparison to Lumumba when the problem here is Joe Biden.
He's correct. It's actually produced in China and smuggled over the border. They don't have the technology to make it in Mexico.
8:50 AM, maybe because, like Biden, Lumumba is so outrageously incompetent.
"Punitive Expedition in Mexico, 1916-1917". If we ever get a Republican in the WH again AND a Republican controlled Congress, that will be the only thing that will resolve the situation.
With Mexico allowing and encouraging thousands of migrants a day to flood into our country I think that gives us enough leverage to spy on their cartels.
@9:04 AM - BS - They have the technology to produce heroin from opium plants, so they can also produce fentanyl.
@8:50 AM - If you can't see the parallel, then you are part of the problem.
@9:04-
Yeah largest cartel in the Northern hemisphere can't afford tech or scientists
Illegal drugs in the USA is a demand problem.
Who dies from fentanyl?
People who need removing from the gene pool, mostly.
@12:09,
What a ridiculous statement.
So some 17 year old kid who smokes a joint he didn't know was laced with fentanyl drops dead and he needed to be removed from the gene pool?
because folks like that die of fentanyl ALOT
@12:30 You obviously know nothing about weed or drugs. Why would anyone lace weed with another drug? It just does not happen. It is not a good business practice for a dealer to do that.
@1:48
you cant be serious
Spook here.
The fentanyl and meth are made in the DPRK and smuggled on diesel subs.
It’s how the regime gets hard currency to sustain their lifestyle of their 1%.

You must be new to this planet......
@12:30 has submitted to the panic/outrage machine of MTG.
The DEA news releases are where to find out information and not opinion.

Perhaps someone with more than average Ludditte skillz can fix the links. After all, I'm a boomer.
Will someone please give an example of someone dying from smoking weed laced with Fentanyl?
I have never heard of such a thing. I know use it to make imitation Xanax and pain pills but they do NOT put it on weed.
@1045
They get the ingredients from China. Do some research
Well, I don't know about the rest of you...but this is quite reassuring.
Sigh of relief, indeed.
I can’t come to any conclusion based on what I know. I will have to, then, look to the facts as presented by the agencies representing the United States Government.
731. Please consider yourself "notified" of something you have never heard of. Brought to you by someone in Oregon no less, and not a member of some government body.
It appears real people, treating real addicts have a pretty good idea of what they are talking about. Article is located at the link below.

1:48, It's called cross-contamination, and it happens. It isn't necessarily intentional.
Large-volume, street-level dealers aren't purists who only sell pot because they believe in it. They sell whatever turns a profit, so there is a chance your weed has been in the same room (or trunk, or duffel bag) with fentanyl, unless you get it from a regulated dispensary. A smart person once told me to be careful buying pot in the hood, because any house that's selling it will also have crack on the premises.
3:15: Anyone who doesn't believe the Mexican cartels manufacture their own meth is a lunatic. They may get the precursors from other countries, but the cooks are local, and they have perfected their methods.
