The city of Jackson said it's going to pick its own management firm to operate the city's water treatment plants. WLBT reported:
While the state of Mississippi and the city of Jackson are both looking for management companies to helm the city’s water system for the next twelve months, City Attorney Catoria Martin said the firm selected by Jackson’s request for proposals will be the one the city chooses and pays.....
“The City of Jackson will continue to comply with all legal requirements in awarding an emergency contract that will be funded by the City of Jackson. The City of Jackson can legally only fund a contract for operations and maintenance as a result of a solicitation issued by the City of Jackson,” Martin said in a statement to WLBT... Attention Socrates!! Free the water!!!
Well that’s fine because they shouldn’t have any issues, now that Congress is investigating the institutional white supremacy of the MSGOP. Just like during the Civil Rights battles of the 20th century, the spotlight of the media and the microscope of the Federal Government will guarantee that the Good Old Boy network of Mississippi with be on their best behavior from now on!
And you will all soon see Tater Tot will be giving Mayor Lumumba and his executive staff the respect that they deserve.
Just let it fail and let Ladumba move on to a higher office in some other state and be someone else’s problem. Feds can take over once it hits rock bottom and people start dying, ala Flynt.
This is the only way that Chowke can spread the grease around to the EEO types. They will then sub-contract and sub-sub-contract the work out to the unqualified.
When the water system inevitably fails, again, Chowke will deflect the blame to the state for not providing adequate funding to fix that "outdated" water plant.
Wash, rinse, repeat.
The city was going on it alone before everything turned to shit. There is no reason to think things will change if the city goes it on. The reason the state had to take control of the water plant was because the city of Jackson couldn't keep the water running.
Just think how bad it must have been. The city had a water plant out in the lake but couldn't get the water to run through the pipes. Every city in Mississippi seems to be able to do something the city of Jackson fails so bad.
Well, we're screwed.
Catoria Martin ignores likelihood that no qualified contractor will contract with a city that doesn't pay, that has a marxist mayor with no integrity or management ability. A decent contractor will prefer to contract with a state pay master.
Why on earth is Lumumba getting his way again?
This makes no sense. He screws everything he touches up.
I just don't get it. I give up...I thought they're was a tiny bit of hope, but Lumumba always seems to get his darn way.
@12:17, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA♾
This may just be another step in the inevitable march toward a law to allow the State to take over the water system, and all the revenue. As a Jackson resident, I hope that happens.
Is dumptruck man diversifying?
Love the spite between Stevie and Lindsey. Beautiful tragedy.
As a person who lives in another county and this announcement is wonderful news. I am sick and damned tired of my tax dollars going into the crap-hole that Jackson hs become with its corrupt "leadership" filling their families and friends coffers. And as for the feds and our racist congressman Thompson, to hell with them also. I pay monthly for my garbage. If I don't pay I can't get a car tag...and it is strictly enforced. If I don't pay for my water it is cut off...and I can't flush my commodes. My sewer is my own water treatment plant that I had installed using my own money and I pay for the maintenance. I don't feel like paying for water, sewage and garbage when the clowns give it away under their socialist agenda and expect other to pay for it.
The main employee the city needs is an “honest” bookkeeper.

Pretty soon you guys are going to be on the hook for everything the State paid for. Tate absolutely should bill your broke asses for saving you from your stupidity.
Well, when you drive down, or up 55 at Savanah street and you smell shit, then all you need to know is that the COJ smells and reeks of that all over the place…from the streets to City Hall. There…I said it. It ain’t gonna got no better like it or not. With the issue of the MS GOP being investigated for being racist all of you people in Jackson have to deal with the shitty smell and no water, or you can move to A Third World Country..same thing. I suggest Tate get a well dug for his water and a rural Sanitary Home Treatment Plant like rural people do then he can rightly inhabit his State Governor’s Mansion. That’s the only way it’s going to work. And maybe when Two of the Largest Banks in the State within walking distance figure out that it’s not going to work then maybe they will either do the same or move, and hopefully the latter. The one thing the Mansion has going for it is that MDEQ requires you to have a sprinkler irrigation system with your home treatment plant. The mansion has grass outside to do that…the banks don’t. This will be good for commercial construction since all businesses are leaving Jackson so my hat is off to the mayor. You might be lining your pockets but your making other people Wealthy due to your incompetence
The Mayor probably already has one or two lined up.
It is sad 12:17 actually believes his moronic, racist, babble. If complete light is shined on the history of Jackson's water system, it will stun the public of their incompetence and corruption. It is truly sad.
How many of y’all are disgusted by Phil AND Lumumba? THAT is what is wrong with this state! Both of them!
Corruption by black or white is still corruption.
@3:32 I am. But corrupt and marginally competent is still better than corrupt, completely and woefully incompetent, and viewing any and everything through the lense of hating white people.
Likely that EPA/Corps of Engineers/other feds dictated contractor qualifications and project specs. Then MEMA wrote RFP, per EPA details, and sent out to qualified contractors, then Mayor copied the RFP with substitutions here and there to empower himself, and sent it to whom? The same contractors the State communicated with?
Catoria Martin's statement is a hollow boast from Mayor until he has a contractor, which he does not yet, or he would have bragged he did.
What caliber of contractor would work for this punkass, no account, weasel of a Mayor who has a bad reputation for payments and management?
@1:31, congratulations. You certainly have lived a meaningful life and have contributed significantly to a better world.
"As a person who lives in another county and this announcement is wonderful news."
Thank you! This sentence is a wonderful illustration of 1/2 of Mississippi's problem.
The other half of the problem, is illustrated by what has been happening in Jackson.
Why has the Governor not called a special session yet?
Ditto 12:46 I don't think the state should have ever stepped in & fixed their water problem. Let them fall on their face - they created their own problem.
Why should our tax dollars be paying for the incompetent City of Jackson's water problems ?
If the city of Jackson can get applicant(s) for this job, would it be asking too much to have references from prior work? Let's not hire a band director to run the water plant, no matter how nice he is.
"I am sick and damned tired of my tax dollars going into the crap-hole that Jackson hs become with its corrupt "leadership"..."
Help me out here - If you live in another county (as you claim) what sort of tax dollars are you paying (and to whom) that go into the crap-hole that Jackson has become?
@8:49 AM, are you saying the CCID is self-supporting? I think not.
Who is Jackson going to get to pay for all of the busted pipes around Jackson?
The water plant should be working good but there isn't any way to get the water to the people. Maybe Jackson should be a little nicer to Tater. Someone will have to come in and work on the piping through out the city that the mayors have let rot for so many years. Of course the mayor isn't smart enough to look that far ahead and all of the race baiters he has lined up do not care.
He finally got his way with the trash being picked up by his pals, so let him put another pal in place to run the water situation. Have to get money one way or another, and if some water trickles, so be it.
How much longer before Taterman kneels and washes Chokwe's feet?

Whether Fed or State, tax Dollars are tax Dollars. And if those Dollars are going toward propping-up the Kingdom of Jackson-Kush, then they're going INTO the aforementioned crap-hole.
