Insurance Commish Miguel Chaney issued the following statement.
The United States House of Representatives passed
the “Build Back Better Act” today, November 19, 2021. The act includes
Medicaid expansion in Mississippi, through the use of the Affordable
Care Act (ACA) Federal
Marketplace.
The bill has many more hurdles to clear, including
passage by the Senate and the President’s signature. If passed, the act
would affect over 750,000 individuals in Mississippi.
I have been in contact with the state division of
Medicaid and will work with the Director and the Federal Center for
Medicaid and Medicare Services to comply with the proposed law.

Even though my business will profit from this, I am opposed. What a sneaky way to get it done. Democrats are nothing if not persistent.
Once again, Mississippi is dragged kicking and screaming into the realms of Humanity.
Ok, trolls, start kicking and screaming.
What's Chaney's point in saying he will follow what could become law? Of course he will. What other option might there be? This clown takes every available opportunity to be heard and read. Were the capitol steps unavailable?
Burke...You're the only troll so far.
I utilized Obama care until I qualified for Medicare. Its not that different from Medicare Advantage or managed care networks as far as paying claims and finding providers. The only real difference was the tax filing at the end of the year. One year, I took a lump sum payment of a retirement account and paid a large IRS tax that year. Otherwise, its just healthcare insurance that is subsidized if your annual income is a certain percent of poverty level. My current healthcare insurance is the same company(Magnolia, Allwell) that I had during most of my Obama care years. One year I had United.
I'm hoping Lynn Fitch will file a lawsuit against Chaney for taking the money.
And I'd bet anyone that the 5th Circuit will rule in Lynn's favor against this overreach of federal authority.
Why would anyone be against a program that is going to lower health care cost for everyone?
6:36 - I think what most are 'against' is 60% or more of this state's population being on the public dole. Could go as high as 70%. There are several reasons to be 'against' THAT, not the least of which is taxpayers picking up the tab.
And after a few years it dumps the cost on the state.
Just out of curiosity, can you name one government program that has made cost go down, anywhere?
Or increased quality?
Serious question… thanks in advance
College tuition? Government loans?
K-12 education? Cheaper? Better?
Medicaid/Medicare?
Power/energy?
Just curious.
“Why would anyone be against a program that is going to lower health care cost for everyone?”
