Crimestoppers issued the following bulletin and photos.
The Madison Police Department is asking for help from the public with a
Felony Shoplifting Case. On 03/03/017, an unidentified male seen in the
photos, entered Walmart #2720 located at 127 Grandview Blvd in Madison,
MS. Just after midnight
the unidentified male wearing what appears to be a light colored
jogging suit with a Dallas Cowboys Logo on the front left pocket of the
pants could be seen removing various electronic devices from the store
and taking the items out to the open area of the
garden center.
The subject first entered the store after he walked over from the Applebee’s and Lowe’s area across the street. It was eventually determined by video that the subject had placed what appears to be a large dark colored duffle bag outside the garden center where he eventually gathered up all of the merchandise he had removed and placed all of it into the large bag.
The subject was last seen on video walking back towards the Applebee's and Lowe’s area where he disappeared from view on the camera. The unidentified male was determined to have stolen the items from the store between 12:40 am and 1:30 am.
The subject managed to take a total of $14,215.00 in merchandise consisting of Nest Smart Thermostats, Nest Indoor and Outdoor Security camera systems, Canary Security Camera Systems, Netgear Wi-Fi Equipment, Google Home Systems, Doorbells with built in security cameras and smart Smoke Detectors.
Anyone with information that leads to the positive location and arrest of this individual would be eligible for a reward of up to $2500.00. If you have information to help in this case, please call Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip online through the Web Tip link on the home page of the Central MS Crime Stoppers website. Or use your mobile device or computer to submit a tip by going to www.P3tips.com.

It's Walmart's own fault for not having sufficient staff to cover the store. He apparently had plenty of time and wasn't stopped by anyone. If they leave the garden entrance open and unstaffed after midnight they are just asking for stuff to walk out.
Conjecture @10:02.
Is that Tony Romo? My how the mighty have fallen.
Large bit of irony here. Dude stealing security equipment & is captured on security cameras.
Whenever he cops his plea in Madison Circuit, a judge will make some hay over this.
And I don't think it's "Wal-Mart's fault" when any individual makes a conscious decision to steal property that belongs to someone else.
@10:08 - yes, it's conjecture, and opinion. And your point is?
It's WalMart's fault for someone stealing from them?
Thanks to the Madison PD for this how-to lesson:
1) After midnight
2) Walk, don't drive to arrive
3) Large duffle bag outside unsecured entrance
4) Wear common sweat clothes
5) Never look at security camera
6) Load up, walk away past security camera coverage
Think I've got it. Appreciate the tips
Madison County Thugs! This doesn't happen in Jackson.
Didn't Maryville pass a law requiring businesses to install security cameras in their parking lots. Seems if they were, we'd be able to follow him to his carol choice
Obviously a Dak fan.
Let's you know the uselessness of cameras. You can outfit your home with cameras, so you can watch video of people stealing your stuff.
I would prefer people not have the opportunity to steal my stuff. Better install those iron doors from Cary Crowley!
I don't think this guy will be caught. Based on what he took, he's probably a professional stealing to fill orders. He's probably not local. It's conjecture, I know.
Madison is so dangerous! We need to get rid of all this dangerous retail!!!
In the second picture of the suspect wearing a biking jersey, I'd swear the guy is Mayor Gene McGee!
Hat tip to 1:17! That's some excellent jackassery on your part.
The suspect in the second photo is brazenly smiling at the camera as he rides off in full bike car on a freshly stolen bike. What has happened to Madison?? Everyone should consider moving to the Bold New City, where nothing is even worth stealing.
"Is that Tony Romo? "
Moves too fast to be Romo.
No alarms at any time?
Romo would have been on his back, writhing in pain from the wind of the automatic doors.
If it was after midnight, as alleged above, the garden center door nor the south entrance are open.....unless they've recently changed their procedures.
Will this affect Gene Magee's upcoming municipal contest?
That is not the garden center exit/entrance.
He stole the wrong camera!
That's probably a shot of him entering, not leaving.
Doesn't matter if he is entering or leaving...You can NOT leave the garden center exit/entrance at night. Period. And the south main entrance is locked off prior to midnight. If you've ever been to WM in Madison early a.m. you know this.
Those of you with the sarcastic Madison is crime ridden and Jackson is not, are coming across as miserably cynical folk. No ONE on this post has even mentioned Jackson, MS but you, which shows, you just can't help yourselves even when a crime DOES occur in Madison, MS, which they do and will and more will come. That's not to say that an area is terrible, but that thieves and thugs are mobile! I too do NOT feel this person is a local. He probably road right off the interstate, stole, then got right back on it since he was "smart" enough not to bring a vehicle with license plates to the scene. There are NO crime free towns or cities. It's only a matter of the likelihood of something going down, no matter how big or small the crime is. As areas grow and flourish, they become prime targets for criminal activity and a strong, visible police force will only do so much.
9:05am, well done. You just proved why Madison blows.
March 30, 2017 @ 12:00 pm: Can you explain your post? It makes no sense. Wait....I have it. You just wanted to see yourself in print.
