Election lagniappe

Here some pictures and mailers that were not posted before the elections held yesterday.

JJ didn't run this one because it was not verified that there was a handicap tag hanging from the visor.

Then there was these photos JJ did not get to post as John Reeves withdrew from the race but were taken last year.  They would have played real well in Madison.

However, this one took the cake:

Then the Noel Fritsch mailers popped up in the Jackson area:

Supervisors.  Did someone say Madison County Supervisors?  This hit piece on Trey Baxter was placed on windshields of cars in the Madison Central H.S. parking lot while the MONA forum took place.  Click on images to enlarge.

OH MY GOD HE'S GOT A KNIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG! We've elected a knife-wielding homicidal maniac by 71% !!!!!!

I so wish that dickhead John Reeves would have run (photo 2). I would have loved to see that Lumumba photo, and a lot of other interesting things pop up throughout. Oh well. Maybe another day.

The three (four?) stations failed miserably in election coverage. WJTV is still bragging that theircoverage is updated every 5 minutes. They quit updating it before the results were in. Try to find out Pam's results.

Lol at Bartley's mailer. Really digging deep on that one. How exactly can someone be tea party, too conservative, and vote Democrat? Also, quite a list of credentials he's got there. Went to public schools and raised by a public school teacher? Really? What else separates you from the majority of people in this state? The supervisor mailings are even less thought out. Looks like Madison County was heard last night. Us voters actually care about who a person is and how they live their life, not last minute mudslinging. Integrity won the day.

Do anyone know if there is a county by county map of the election results? Curious to see if Mary even carried Madison County.

Speaking of failing to cover the elections, Kingfish takes the damned cake for his lengthy failed post that was chock full of misinformation, guesswork and just plain old stupid shit.

Anonymous said...

Umm uhh. Reverse psychology tends to happen on the Bruce Brantley mailer.
MSGOP, branding some as a 'tea partier' isn't gonna work.

And please, for the love of the intelligent minded, please start saying 'democratic' or 'voted for a democrat'.
Do you actually think that we're going to hold someone's personal voting record against them?
Sometimes you guys give us no choice but to vote for a democrat. Christ almighty.
Lord save us from the flat earth MSGOP that thinks we're all stupid.

Bruce Bartley*. Correction

My money, Honey, is all ways on Kingfish! You might not like how or what he reports but he has done the homework. Unlike like your leave it to some one else self! Boo hoo

Kingfish said...

Everything was copied annd pasted from the AP, county websites, and the Secretary of State. Take it up with them.

Hinds website was botched all night as it showed all precincts counted regardless of how many votes were actually counted.

Howland not only blew off the Madison town hall meeting, but when I came out of the meeting I found the anonymous hit piece against his opponent, Trey Baxter, on my windshield. Somehow I thought the juxtaposition of those two events only made John look worse.

WLBT'S orange banner with white letters and numbers was terrible. At The Governor's Headquarters they were live streaming this and it was just an apricot blur. Also at another party where they had WLBT on, no one could read this low-contrast banner. The Black lettering against the orange was fine but the white (most important numbers) were illegible.

I tried until midnight to discover some of the numbers somewhere. The main TV Channels, the Clarion-Ledger, the Hinds County site, Jackson Jambalaya, etc. No one told us that the counting was over for the night. WLBT had the best spread sheet statewide, but it was in such disorder that it was difficult to find local races.

Did not know if affadavits were counted. Did not know which boxes were still out in Jackson. It all just left the number-hungary folks hanging.

I found it interesting that this Debbie Miller Bates woman, who shared this Noel Fritch knife hit against Longwitz to Billingsley's Facebook page is a.... WAIT FOR IT.... Ex-DMH employee! Also, Billingsley never took it off his Facebook page. He didn't say one word.

Anonymous said...

Why is he carrying a kitchen knife?
Why is she in an alleyway?
Why is she wearing those hideous brown boots?
This is lightweight. They should have put a child crouched down next to the woman.
In all seriousness a despicable ad that all involved should be ashamed of.

Since some requested, here are the election maps of note.

DEM governor: http://uselectionatlas.org/RESULTS/state.php?fips=28&year=2015&f=0&off=5&elect=1
GOP auditor: http://uselectionatlas.org/RESULTS/state.php?year=2015&fips=28&f=0&off=11&elect=2
GOP treasurer: http://uselectionatlas.org/RESULTS/state.php?fips=28&year=2015&f=0&off=8&elect=2

Mayor Mary won 1 county (Tunica) and they only had 20 GOP votes.

Anonymous said...

8:16 - yes, very lightweight. Yes, very childish. But hey - it was a Noel Fritsch piece. He is a lightweight. And he is worse than a child. What would you expect?

Anonymous said...

Mary lost everything.
She ran a crappy campaign for state auditor and lost against a guy who should have been vulnerable. She had the Clarion Ledger, the Madison County Journal and other papers propping her up.
She endorsed Billingsley. Longwitz trounced him by over 40 points.
She endorsed Allen Phillips. Hancock beat him by 10 points.
Her clean sweep failed. Sheila Jones and Slumlord Baxter won, but Jill Ford lost.
Who is running the county now? Gerald Steen. He has all the cards in his hand. And Mary tried so hard to beat Gerald, why would he play ball with her two.

Anonymous said...

Gerald would 'play ball' with Jones and Baxter because that is the way to run the county. Just because Mayor Mary supported them and fought against him won't make him 'not play ball' with them. What would he do otherwise? Play with the two crooks that have kept him out of any influence the past four years? Play with himself?

Some folks try to make too many circles such that they come back on themselves - particularly when talking about Mayor Mary.

You will soon see a coalition between the two new sups - Baster and Jones - along with Steen and watch Rudy, Tim and all the others that have been sucking off the Madison County tax-tit try to move down into Jackson and saddle up with Mayor Tony.

"Hinds website was botched all night as it showed all precincts counted regardless of how many votes were actually counted."

Would this be the same Hinds County Circuit Clerk's office that Democrat-suddenly-turned-Republican Anita Wray lists on her resume? Wouldn't Madison County benefit so much from having all her 8 years, no 13 years, oh wait 21 years of EXPERIENCE EXPERIENCE EXPERIENCE from Hinds County in their circuit clerk's office?

The answer is NO. The Madison County Circuit Clerk can't afford the ineptitude that comes from Hinds County experience. It will be way too costly.

Understand why you clear the comments KF of the sadist freak at August 5, 2015 at 6:29 PM but good Lord do the rest of us a favor and shit can that stuff going forward. We get it. Wouldn't be surprised that you get 50 of those a day from that nutjob stalking you.

@7:58 Billingsley rec'd some extremely bad campaign advice or was his own worst counsel or both. No other way to explain the drubbing he took. The poll Longwitz released in mid-June put him up +37. Then Billingsley released that stupid Oxford House statement and made it even worse. Final margin +42, +56 in NEJackson.

Anonymous said...

8:27, should the CL or JFP 'shitcan' negative comments about reporting as well? KF has long been known to be a vocal critic of reporting in those publications. I'm sure he can take it if he can dish it out. This site wouldn't be what it is if it just allowed the yap-dogs like you agreeing with everything posted.

8:27 calling somebody a sadist freak for calling Kingfish out on a post full of wrong shit? The boy at 8:27 must not read well since Kingfish himself came along later and said he had copied and pasted wrong shit. Regardless of the original source, the shit was wrong. And there's a smelly pile of it atop the head of 8:27.

Interesting post about Rudy seeking to peddle his wares in Jackson. I wonder if 'the gal from Starkville' who has the sole-source successful bid for county insurance will do the same. It's gone right over your heads that she was, ah, ahem, well-connected with Tim-Elvis as well as sharing Club Level dining with Rudy on MSU game days.

Its sad that Hinds Countians are perfectly satisfied with said ineptitude.

Billingsley definitely got his ass handed to him, which is too bad because he's a decent guy, but he was just steamrolled by Longwitz. He could have been 100% responsible for razing every Oxford House in Mississippi and chasing them back to Maryland and he'd still have lost. It's just too hard to beat a well funded and organized incumbent.

I'm still waiting for the deviants at the Oxford House to gang rape some little girl. At least Billingsley seems to have been right about them - they're no more danger to the snobs in NE Jackson than nursing home residents.

Uh, no Billingsley wasn't right about anything relative to the Oxford Houses. When you have the results of the background checks on the current residents then let us know. What? They don't conduct background checks? Oh, that's right.

No question, Mayor Mary was the biggest story of Primary 2015.
It was really astonishing that she went zero for 4, with one of those losses being her desired control of Madison County.

Now follow me here while I proffer this comparison:
Do you remember Gulf War One? Saddam Hussein had been Tyrant of His Own Sandbox for so long that he had no idea he was weak, petty and stupid outside Iraq. He overreached when he invaded Kuwait, flouting all convention and flipping off the world. He was routed, of course, and was put back in his box to cry.
I know it's a silly comparison, but I really can't comprehend a 34-year incumbent making such a colossal series of terrible mistakes. It seems to show a real lack of judgment, perspective and humility that only comes from one person having too much power for much too long.

In this country, the good long-serving mayors have common traits: they reach across the aisle and build coalitions in their communities. The guy from South Carolina comes to mind. Mayor Joe ...? But when you make it a practice of annihilating people as a daily practice, you lose your way and quite possibly your soul.

It's time, Madison. Who will step forward and serve?

Anonymous said...

So you are saying that MHB hasn't been a good Mayor for Madison? ROFLMAO

Who routed Saddam Hussein? The other Arabs? The Iranians?

She came damn close but missed on defeating Steen. Still, the new Madison BOS is going to be light years different and more responsive than the one it replaces.

Should MHB seek re-election in 2017 ANYBODY who steps forward better remember the whuppin' she put on JBC.

It is her job until she doesn't want it anymore.

#ResultsMatter

Anonymous said...

JBC is a lazy bad candidate. You know it, I know it, and now Sheila Jones has proven it.
MHB is a lazy candidate too, as we've just seen. Doesn't know how to do anything but the dirty smear, and the Tammy Faye eyelash batting woe is me is played out.
Madison is broke. It is no wonder MHB wanted out. Some touch choices are going to have to be made soon, and she can't keep kicking the can down the road. I can see why she'd want to stop while she's perceived to be ahead.

Anonymous said...

11:07 Go away. You're preaching to yourself.

Anonymous said...

Spot on, 11:42. I wish Sheila Jones had gotten the office on her own steam. She could have--but now she is beholden to MHB. These elected officials endorsing candidates is disgraceful, I think. I always vote for candidates who stand on their own two feet. I want them to owe the voters, not the politico who helped put them in office.

Anonymous said...

Let it go, 11:10. These residents get the same background checks as every other person in the neighborhood. They're a federally protected class of people per our Supreme Court free from your bullshit restrictions. You might as well have been picking on black people, or handicapped, or women, or the elderly, or foreign nationals. Will was smart enough to seize on your fears/prejudices and manipulate you to vote for him.

Oh, and if you don't like that the Supremes call them a protected class? Then pick up 12:28 and move to a country where they don't protect people from assholes like you. I hear Russia is cooler this time of year.

It is far from over. Far from over. Let's see how long the Oxford Houses remain open once the MDMH money spigot gets turned off. After the results of Tuesday a certain impressed-by-the-results Lt. Gov is going to want all those Longwitz voters to support his run for Governor.

Andy Taggert's endorsement of Jill Ford did nothing. Interesting.

Hard to choose who to be most disappointed in. But I would have to say Mayor Magee and Superintendent Ronnie McGehee for supporting this embarrassment of a campaign. Bruce didn't know any better. He obviously just did what he was told (mainly smile for the camera). He never mentioned one qualification for deserving a vote (he had no qualifications). But this scare campaign is an embarrassment. I expect better of Madison. But I'm sure all the soccer moms thought those crazy shooting videos made Bruce a perfect mascot for Madison schools. What a nut. His Facebook was like a mix of BMW meets Swamp Monsters meets California Tanning Salons.

Anonymous said...

Of course he doesn't. He wants votes and getting after the Oxford House scam will get him a whole bunch of those.

Anonymous said...

The picture of the Ray Phillips truck in a Handicap spot is just Ray Phillips thinking Madison County owes everything to him. Mr. Phillips abused the county of Madison and several property owners by placing his signs wherever he wanted to without permission. He has no handicap sticker or a badge hanging from his mirror. Madison County is a far better place without the Phillips!

My 8 year old quit saying that 3 years ago, 7:19. KF was shown to be wrong. Then he tries to blame it on his source. A source he never credited for doing the work when he was trying to pass it off as his own reporting.

Anonymous said...

Since 2007 KF has never passed off election night results as his own reporting unless he is actually down at a Circuit Clerk's office watching the action go down in person. Other elections, like this week, he's watching the returns on TV and monitoring online sources just as we all are. He follows along, his readers follow along, he provides something of a play-by-play in the body of the post, his readers leave their own play-by-play in the comments section.

You're either new here or a major dickwad or both but in either event you really need to pull your head out of your ass. Then grow a set and STFU.

On Mayor Mary - I personally voted for the opposition as (a) I didn't see a clear reason not to and (b) we are heading Madison way and I think she's done a bang up job keeping it in better shape than most of the communities in the state.

On Billingsley - guess I missed this if Longwitz was anti gun? I got a Billingsley mailer that basically stated that Longwitz "voted against special needs children" among other claims. I seriously doubt any politician would vote against special needs kids and there's more to that story but it smacked of desperation and was the final turnoff for me on Billingsley. Ick.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
