Mao would be proud. So would Boss Hogg.

And Tom Head speaks about the special election on Facebook. Too good not to point out.

Dear prospective special election candidates:

Chokwe's win last year was a mandate—five wards and 87% is a mandate no matter how you slice it. And we elected h...im to a full four-year term. Losing him seven months in was a tragedy for the city for many, many reasons.

I think, taking the power of Chokwe Lumumba's visionary mandate into account, you should ask yourself if you're the best person to continue his work.

If your answer to that question is yes, no matter who you are, that's great—make the case to voters. Personally, I'd love to see a crowded field of candidates who share Chokwe's values and are competing only for the privilege of continuing his legacy.

But if your answer to that question is anything but yes, I hope to goodness you wait until 2017. Our city needs, and deserves, some continuity.

Just one voter's opinion, but I doubt it's an uncommon one.
Nice to see him making some misrepresentations again.  The real race was in the primary and it was 53-47 or something like that and he knows it.  87% in a general election with no Republican opponent and some little-known independent candidates? Please. There was no such mandate.  What Mr. Head is showing is some intellectual bigotry. Agree with me and you have the right to run for office. Don't agree with me and you have no such right.  Boss Hogg would be proud.  One would expect more from someone who claims to be a strong supporter of voting rights and civil rights but oh well, guess when it comes to his plantation, only certain people should have the right to run for office.

Fortunately for the rest of us, he does not make the rules.

I'm a firm believer of posting every word a democrat says.

Well, Tom.....why don't you have someone come pick you up,(between studying for your Supermasters Doctorate Wizard degree) go downtown and throw your hat in the ring. "If you elect me mayor, I WILL see to it that no white male votes in Jackson for 20 years"

Justin said...

why let a silly thing like democracy get in the way.

Is Tom saying you have to have one of those guys with the funny little hats and a dress and and a cartoon name like Ali Liku Alata to run? Or do you have to tell the cops when your pulled over for DUI, "Do you know who I am?" So many qualified Alpha males to choose from....I just cant decide.

Men in Jackson have become so feminized I just say yes Ma'am when they speak to me. Less confusing that way.

Ah yes Tom! I get it! What a vision. First, I will change my name to some goofy mumbo-jumbo with WAY to many vowels. Next I will align myself with a group of idiots that take great pleasure in killing police officers. Then I will embark on a lifelong career of hating white people and doing everything I can to annoy them. Last, when I die I will be trumpeted as a great visionary and leader. Does that about cover it Tom? Some vision huh Tom?

Tom Head is even less credible than Ladd, and that's saying something. He is entertaining, though, while she is not.

JFP proves, on a weekly basis, that any idiot can write for their little publication.

This is no exception.

Tom, you castrated little quisling, you would have been among the first Chokwe put up against the wall if his expressly-stated desire for secession had ever become reality.

I don't think Lumumba hated white folks. He reacted to oppression, marginalization, and violence with the same courage, ideas, and arms that would put him squarely in the same American political tradition as Jefferson and John Carroll of Caroline. The state motto of the Commonwealth of Virginia motto is very Lumumba. Isn't it 'death to tyrants'? As to the funny sounding names...why not take the liberty to name yourself after your own traditions? The motto 'free the land' is the Afrikan version of Southern agrarian thought. The urban social problems of black folks could be mitigated by traditional African agrarianism in both rural and urban settings.

".....who share Chokwe's values"? Just what are his values? He's been granted knighthood, Sainthood and Clitoral Hood in the past week.

Everything has been said about him but the truth. Funeralizin' is a funny thing.

Oh hell yes! Jefferson, John Carroll (?) and our very own chewbacca! or is it Saint chewbacca? You left out the Pope and Jesus too! The drivel that you trying are trying to imply would encourage the thought that maybe those "black folk" need to take their mitigated nonsense both urban and rural back to "AFRIKA" and work on the "death to tyrants' and they try to "free the land"

Chokwe Antar will say what the values he learned are. During the funeral he said his father would emphasize the 'We' instead of the 'I' as subject in greeting cards. The philosophy of Afrikan collectivism not rooted in occidental or oriental traditions is refreshing. Our traditional pedagogy has collapsed anyway and so has the formal economy.

Time to move to Maine. Y'all (both sides ) are too f'd up to talk basic sense to. F'd up, the albatross we will always carry I suppose. Tom, the whack job, only to be equalled by the 11 people that frequent this site. Those that don't leave are made for each other. And I don't mean leave as in move to the next county.

Tom wrote an opinion piece during Lumumba's campaign which Ladd praised like the stone tablets Moses carried off the mountain. The theme of that piece was "trust Jackson". Tom basically asked white people to top campaigning against Lumumba and just trust the voters of Jackson.

So what's wrong with that idea now? It seems Tom doesn't want to "trust Jackson" to pick a new mayor.

What are these folks up to? Tom Head included... It's to Free the Land, of course. Noticed that the supporters of this movement are also commenting on this and other news blogs.. There is nothing but bad brewing in the background....Mao would be proud, indeed. This town needs an enema.

you know @1:19 PM.. If one of those clowns wearing a silly organ grinder hat come on my property crowing "free the land' I will light his ass up!

Gol-durn it, the character's name was Boss Hogg. Two Gs.

If you can't get that right, how dare you pose as a southern conservative?

Yes, go to Maine. All of you. Go to Maine, and never look back.

"Castrated little quisling" is an apt description of Tom Head if ever I saw or heard one.I do think the castration would be a but redundant though. Tom Head's chances of finding a willing partner for reproduction are nil, nix and none.

So it seems a lot of other people have had wonderful experiences with the black female Tom Head. Tell me stories on how yall all came to know and hate him.

Chockwe told one of my closest friends, "I hate all white people. The white man is a bastard race."

Even David Duke never said anything that egregious.

Wonder if he is going to jump on Larita's bandwagon to rename Battlefield Park?

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
