All you people should be ashamed. A man is dead. He provided a medical service to women who may otherwise try to abort their own babies and die, or be the parent of a baby they cannot provide for. Not everyone is meant to be a parent.

All you pro-lifers. Where are you when the babies are born and the mothers have nothing! Where are you when the babies are born and end up abused and neglected because the mother didn't want the baby in the first place! Where are you when the mother needs help of knowing where to GO for help? Where are you when a teenage girl's parents throw her out because she is pregnant?

When you pro-lifers start taking these babies and help them, then you can talk. Otherwise, STFU.

Get off your high horse, 1:50. Conservatives and others to the right of the political center have contributed more money through charitable contributions and church donations, not to mention income taxes at every level, than liberals in the last 50 years. Don't tell me that we don't care about the poor. The mother who needs help along with the teenage girl who's been thrown out usually wind up being cared for by private charities funded largely by - you guessed it - conservatives and church groups. Adoptive families? Want to take a guess at their political affiliations? Conservatives are the most generous people in the world to those who truly need help.

Back to the doctor. I'm pro-life, but no one deserves to be killed because he's provided legal medical services to women. Let the police do their work before you start accusing anyone of a crime.

I think the feds need to supervise this autopsy and investigation due to the political centrality and tension. Its inevitable that the DOJ sets in.

It takes a great deal of courage to live one's convictions in the face of threats and hostility. My sympathies to Dr. Booker's friends and family.

Some of us remember when young women died needlessly because a medical procedure that would have saved their lives was unavailable except to the wealthy who had the money to go to other countries.

And some of us believe that religious freedom includes being in charge of one's own soul especially when most of your fellow citizens are not so puritanically rigid on an issue and when it is not possible to know when a mass of cells develops a soul . Some of us have faith that if God intended all humans to live from conception, He, in His wisdom could have made humans to lay eggs and not be dependent on the mother. Or He could have imbued humans with the medical wisdom to save every human fertilized egg.

Bill, I doubt there is any evidence for your claim. Charity comes in forms other than money as well. I don't see the passion leading these pro-Lifers to dedicate themselves to CARA, for example, or ever wondering how innocent babies become " thugs".

When every child born in this Nation truly has an equal opportunity to grow and develop and have their basic needs met and when we better understand the long term effects of drugs and machines on babies taken out of the womb too soon, we can have a rational rather than an emotional and religious based discussion.

The rabid pro-lifers certainly didn't care about the 12 year olds they upset at Prep a few weeks ago. Nor did they respect the Prep parents rights to teach their children in their own way and time.

7:48 a.m., you raise some good points. I myself as a Christian struggle with the abortion issue. I personally would never agree to one, assuming the fetus was not grossly deformed or something like that and my wife's life wasn't in danger.

However, these nuts who want to say my daughter, if raped by a criminal and she becomes pregnant, should go to prison for having an abortion should she decide to do that, with me going to prison with her for helping her, can kiss my behind.

All this to say these are tough issues. I don't need the pro-lifers or the pro-choicers yelling at me about what they believe my family should do.

Our issue is with women who freely participate in sexual activities and turn to abortion when they slip up or their "protection" fails. A woman who does not wish to have a child should either refrain or have her tubes tied. End of problem and no babies killed in the process.

I'm so glad you were mature and wise during adolescence and didn't imagine yourself in LOVE with someone not deserving. It wasn't the " sluts" who got pregnant but the naïve, uninformed girls...some of whom were left sterile forever and would have been great mothers.

I was an teen before Roe V Wade and saw tragedies that affected the future , not just of the mothers, but the children as well.

And, I saw up close and personal what rhe death of mothers in childbirth ( whose babies died with them) can mean to the surviving children. There are wicked step mother tales for a reason.
