More Rankin crime spills over into Jackson

Yup. Apparently a car is the weapon of choice for Rankin County Rednecks as yet another person was killed in Jackson by a Rankin County thug:

"Jeycob England, 20, of Florence, who is accused of running down a Utah man in the parking lot of the Target on I-55 North early Friday morning. England originally was charged with aggravated assault; however, victim Scotty Ford died Saturday at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and the charge against England was upgraded to murder.

Sadly, neither Rankin County nor rednecks nor an automobile is the culprit here. Whiskey is.

ironic isn't it ?

As a Jackson resident I am afraid to go out on my street for fear of being run down by some lunatic from Rankin County. I remember the good old days when I only had to worry about getting mugged by fellow Jacksonians.

Yep. Thats 2! If we get about 75 more this year and average about 75 per year for 20 years then this comparison will prove to be more than a stupid statement.

Now where is my abacus

And of course, NE Jackson is home to the Electric Cowboy where this all started, just around the corner from the murder on Fernwood.

If the 18-20 year olds were kept out and not allowed to drink, it would help.

Another concern here is idiots naming their kids "Jeycob." It reminds me of Tim Meadows' quote from Mean Girls:

"My apologies. I have a nephew named Anfernee, and I know how mad he gets when I call him Anthony. Almost as mad as I get when I think about the fact that my sister named him Anfernee. "

Rankin 2

scoreboard!

It's Jackson crime, not Rankin. It started and ended in NE Jackson. Had nothing to do with Rankin. If Jackson is going to allow bars to have 18-20 years old in them and fail to make sure they don't drink, this is what can happen.

Rankin fought alcohol and bars for years for a reason.

The problem I see here is that Eletronic Cowboy Night club. The city of Jackson needs to close it down. Stupid, Young, and Alcohol never mix. Wasn't there another innocent that occured at this night club not too long ago?

Allowing clubs to be open after 1:00 am is a big problem. Last call at midnight, and closing at 1:00 am should be the latest allowed.

Also, parking lot security should be put in place.

Anonymous said...

Can you imagine having to be the security guard in the parking lot of a Jackson club at midnight? Yeesh!

Seriously, this is the pot calling the kettly black. Let's go back and compare the crime states on Rankin and Hinds county. There is a reason the white population of Hinds county is moving out like a bad nosebleed. I'll take drunk rednecks and a bar fight over gun-weelding thugs anyday.

Crime stats are reported based on where the crime occurs, not on the home town of the criminal. Please stop arguing over who has the highest per capita thug population. Bill Billingsley (safe in Madison)

How about a new business? The Party Van. It picks them up takes them to the bar, then drives them home, with one stop by the beer store.

Doesn't take much to get you suburbanites in a little tizzy, does it

Remember Oogie.

You might be a redneck if you spell your son's name Jeycob.

It takes even less to elicit copious amounts of misdirection apologia from guilt-ridden white Jacksonians who can't argue a position into the howling wind of Jackson's crime and demography facts.

well put 6:45. and yes, murders can put me in a tizzy.

not to be outdone by Rankin County folks killin in the capitol city...this morning one man was killed and another wounded when gunfire erupted....in Belhaven.

This is a cancer folks and it can only be cured by distance.

Get out and get out now!

Until law enforcement steps up and hires additional manpower and has a more visible presence, AND until those proven guilty of crimes are actually sentenced to a lengthy term, nothing will change.

Anonymous said...

Hinds County law enforcement efforts are best served with Citizen Robert Graham in charge.

Shadowfax said...

Is that the same Robert Graham who lined his pockets while receiving an 'on duty' check while pocketing extra bucks for providing dispatcher training to recruits?

Can 9:24 cite something Graham has done to solve or lessen crime? (Doing the daily 'cap pop' report on WLBT fos six years doesn't count.)

Anonymous said...

Robert Graham just needs to go away...for a LONG stint.

Sarcasm Shadowfax ... sarcasm.

You people really needed to check out " the most wanted" posters in the Metro area.

"Get out now" and this "we win" attitude of Rankin countians is only acceptable when you figure that the most cosmopolitan place in which any of these people have ever spent an extended period of time is a Flowood Applebee's. I am amazed that these sucktards can't comprehend that a thriving capital city is crucial to the economy of this state. Without a true urban area, we'll continue to suffer brain drain and call poorly built subdivisions and shit-shilling chain restaurants "economic growth".

So go drink some sweet tea and enjoy a "3-for-$20" dinner. The thinking folk among us will continue to cry in the post-1 AM-served beer.

I live in Rankin County after living in NE Jackson for years. I've also lived in New York, NY and Texas.

Jackson is crap. I have to work downtown, and hate the potholes, nowhere to run out and eat (decent, that is), being afraid to stay after dark after a car break-in and a shooting at the Shell Station where I bought gas earlier in the day.

Back in the 70's and 80's Jackson was still fun. Very sad. I gave up and left.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
