Wikipedia states that Nocello is:
"is a walnut- and hazelnut-flavored liqueur from Italy. It is produced by the Toschi Vignola s.r.l. company of Savignano sul Panaro, Province of Modena, Emilia-Romagna, Italy. It is labeled "Imitation Liqueur" in the United States and is 24% alcohol by volume. The liqueur, which is colored with caramel, is sweet with a rounded and balanced walnut flavour with vanilla tones. Nocello is similar in taste to Frangelico. In 2004 Nocello was awarded a gold medal at the IWSC (UK) competition for nut liquors.

I first discovered Nocello at Gino's in Baton Rouge, one of the best Italian restaurants anywhere. My waitress suggested that I try it in my cappucino. An addiction was born as I savored this new potion of brewed magic. After I returned to Jackson, I naturally wanted to have my new favorite drink again. However, when I dined at Amerigo's one night, I was told they did not serve it. The manager at the package store I patronize informed me that it could not even be ordered from the state as it was not in "the book" issued by the ABC.
Once again I am reminded I am in Mississippi. If I want a liqueur that doesn't have a black label or is covered by a purple bag, I am fresh out of luck. Thanks to our virtuous and incorruptible legislature, I can't order anything containing alcohol online either. I was told that if I could find a distributor that would agree to carry it and request it from the state, I could order a case if I was lucky. Wonderful. If you want an example of how the government screws things up and is never about choice or freedom, this is it. Instead of going on a probable wild goose chase (and what am I going to do with a case of an after-dinner liqueur?) with distributors and the ABC, I'll have to buy it at Martin's Wine Cellar the next time I am in New Orleans. To the government here in Mississippi: THANKS!!! Nice to see you are still in the dark ages.
Postscript: Don't even get me started on Spaten Optimatum beer.

but...the Mississippi government knows what's best for you. You only want that stronger stuff so you can get drunk faster!
