Mississippi Department of Corrections Commissioner Pelicia Hall issued the following statement. 

A David Landrum-owned company must pay a $157,043 judgment to Marguerite Black after a Special Chancellor ruled that Mr. Landrum committed fraud in placing restrictive covenants on land he did not own.

Four masked individuals assaulted and robbed a man at his Belhaven home last night.  This message was posted on Nextdoor:

The city of Jackson posted a request for proposals for a contract to manage the Jackson Zoo on its website yesterday. Some quick notes:

The mother of a murder victim was shouted down by a Hinds County Public Defender and his crew last week at a Project Eject forum.  U.S. Attorney Mike Hurst has held forums around Jackson to discuss Project Eject.  Stacey Kirschten, the mother of murdered Chelise Kirschten tried to Attorney Adofo Minka and his crew of crazies repeatedly shouted her down.  They weren't interested in a discussion but sought to bring their brand of mob rule to Broadmeadow United Methodist Church.  No sympathy or respect was shown to the grieving mother or her loss, all that mattered was shutting her down.  Unfortunately, viewers only got to see a few seconds of what took place on WJTV that night.

Note: Yes, JJ is aware that Camille hit the Gulf Coast on August 18.  However, it still took place in August. 

Today's edition of Throwback Thursday focuses on Hurricane Camille.  She has been somewhat forgotten since it was 49 years ago and Katrina was a bigger storm.  Camille nuked Gulfport and tore through Mississippi as it moved north but then turned east and vented her fury at Virginia before she headed out into the Atlantic Ocean. The House of Representatives passed the lottery bill it killed last night. The bill now goes to Governor Phil Bryant for his signature.

Utica leads the way in resisting the terrorist empire that is the United States.  Freedom Fighter Vogel Denise Newsome sent out this bulletin in July after she was detained by war criminals in Utica. 

Attorney General Jim Hood's efforts to sue several wine companies for shipping wine into Mississippi suffered a severe blow in where else but Rankin County last week.  The Attorney General and Lord Protector of the Realm charged that several out of state wine companies illegally shipped wine into the state.  However, General Hood case soured when a Chancellor dismissed most of the defendants. 

It's been a rough couple of days on this website with the recent crime stories.  However, before everyone gets too down about things, there is always a certain little town in Rankin County that makes things more interesting.  The subject: speed bumps.   Enjoy the video.

The House just killed the conference report on the lottery bill on a vote of 61-53.  However, this was only the first "dead" as the bill is held on a motion for reconsideration.  WAPT's Ross Adams was on the scene and gave the report posted below.

One of the more disgusting scenes ever seen in Jackson took place  a few nights ago at the Project Eject town hall forum.  U.S. Attorney Mike Hurst has held the forums across Jackson to get citizen input on the Justice Department's latest crime-fighting project.  Unfortunately, representatives of the thug element in Jackson showed up at the the forum.  Stacey Kirschten, the mother of murdered Chelsie Kirschten, attempted to speak.  The word "attempted" is used for a reason.  Watch what took place.

Update (5:00 PM) House removes exemptions from Public Records and Open Meetings Acts.  House passes bill and returns to Senate for concurrence.

Nutshell version: State creates agency that is exempt from Open Meetings Act, Public Records Act, and state purchasing requirements, i.e. bids. 

The Senate took a chance and voted to create a state lottery yesterday. SB# 2001 passed on a vote of 30-20*.  Supporters claim the lottery will produce $40 million in tax revenue during its first year and eventually reach $80 million per year. Some observations about the bill are posted below. 

The Claiborne County Board of Supervisors channeled the ghost of George Steinbrenner as they fired and then rehired Board Attorney Barbara Blackmon this week - after she sued them in federal court.

Lamar Adams had over half a million dollars in various banks when his timber ponzi scheme came to an end.  The receiver in the SEC civil case filed against the convicted fraudster said she recovered over $2 million from various accounts and assets.
