Dear Chief Wade: You like to tout JPD's success in clearing cases and solving murders. Well, here is a name for you: Tia Evans.
JJ reported June 7, 2021:
Yet another young woman was murdered last weekend in Jackson. The JPD press release merely says Jertia Evans was gunned down by an AR-15 and a .40 caliber handgun. Just another entry on the murder ledger. As usual, there is more to the story.
A car filled with savages (no other way to describe them) drove by and fired numerous .223 and .40 rounds into her grandmother's Barbara Ann Drive home as she sat outside Saturday night. Several rounds struck Evans, killing her. A flower that was a young woman's life became crushed rose petals, trampled under the barbarism that is Jackson, Mississippi.
Mississippi State grad? Yes, the late Tia Evans recently graduated from Mississippi State University. The young go-getter earned her degree in Fashion Design & Merchandising while running her own hair business. Not even the significant injuries she suffered in an April wreck could stop her from graduating as she hobbled across the stage to get that coveted diploma. She was 23 years old. Her family held a celebration for her graduation at the Iron Horse Grill, so proud were they of this precious young woman. At least her mother got to see her graduate, small consolation that may be.
Gunned down in the beginning of a new life after accomplishing so much. Her name was Tia Evans.

Chief Wade is a nice person. That said he’s not qualified to be the JPD chief. Hopefully we will be getting an experienced replacement
Wade is a zero. I had hopes that the former Gluckstadt chief would provide a visible positive influence on the JPD admin, but alas, they are still a third world PD.
Well, knowing the caliber of the firearms used to murder her won’t help much since they were likely stolen from unlocked vehicles in the burbs. I guess you could trace the weapons back to the negligent legal owners. To solve this, they would either need a snitch, an admission of guilt, or a livestream of the event on black social media.
Bring in Steve Renfroe as Chief and Richard McGahey as Asst. Chief. Crime would be cleaned up in a year. Lol
Chief Wade is only one man. The black community as a whole must do better. Yet everyone can see that the decline is rapid and the fatigue is earned. If no one talks to the police in an attempt to give any information, then it will probably be another 4 years unsolved. With many more in between. You can't give zero and expect everything in return, but they do anyway.
... since they were likely stolen from unlocked vehicles in the burbs.
Proof? Link? Put up.
I agree with 11:44.
And since we clearly both agree that Jackson is mostly comprised of thieves and degenerates that cannot be trusted, that is why me and my legal guns simply no longer patronize that cesspool.
You know, because we suburban dwellers with legal guns to protect our families are the main problem with Jackson.
It is super easy to search the JJ archives. Here let me spoon feed you like a little baby Bryan Bailey has repeatedly issues press releases requesting that Rankin Residents secure their weapons. And your car is not a secure location for your weapon.
11:44 - Preach brother!!! We need to spend our resources prosecuting legal gun owners. Those are the real criminals!!!
@1:05 You are projecting hard there. And you misspelled “negligent gun owners”
I drive a certain brand truck. I no longer carry my pistol in it. It's too easy to target and get stolen. I also try not to park said truck in the city limits of Jackson. #losscontrol
Association is not causation but you likely didn't get past HS so you wouldn't know the difference.
@1:45 Do you mean to say Coincidence does not equal causation? Because it is extremely funny that you can’t even get that right either 😂
11:44 1:03 and 1:35 is the same reliable Belhaven/The Fondren commenter that really wants to blame the burbs for black on black crime in Jackson.
I hope this misplaced blame helps you get approved to join the Sisters of Rukia's Poor People or whatever club you are desperately trying to please.
I am so sorry this young life was taken too soon via senseless violence and I am so sorry the City of Jackson refuses to care.
May her family find peace somehow.
@2:10 Nope. Wrong. Projecting AGAIN!
I live in Brandon and store my weapons in a Cannon brand safe.
This is typically what happens. The bucket of crabs simply can’t let the smart ones escape. Perhaps it is because the become a painful reflection of the failures the lazy criminal culture that is endemic to the demographic? It is hard to make excuses when there are too many success stories of hard work and dedication. I mean imagine, a woman so determined that she walked on crutches to collect her degree? That’s not the type of woman who makes excuses while sitting on her front porch washing down her next Twinkie with an OE.
@2:10 your ranting is so off topic I am surprised KF is approving them instead of scolding you. Why are you so defensive of negligent gun owners? It isn’t that difficult to be responsible and secure your weapon! Do you think Bryan Bailey is also working for George Soros/Rukia Lumumba? He has been pleading with the rednecks in Niknar since 2015 to stop leaving their guns in their cars!
You can fix JPD, but that won't matter until you fix the catch and release, hand out blessings, judicial system. I wager my life's savings that the perpetrators of this crime are convicted felons who are either on parole or probation.
Association is not causation is perhaps the most important lesson one learns in a statistics class.
People need not be afraid to speak up. I live in a city where we have a few trouble makers. I once called the police when I saw a crime being committed. When the police arrived I walked over and pointed out the individuals that committed said crime.
I ensured the police did their jobs by following up on the process.(statement, arrest and court)
I continue to speak out when I see wrong! This is my neighborhood and I will not let a few punks ruin it!
It’s been quiet around here awhile! My suggestion, STAND UP!
Wade is all hat and no cattle.
@4:35 was this before or after all the punks got full auto glocks? Because that is a very important distinction
How did this thread go from a plea to the chief to solve a four year ago murder to jabbering about guns left in vehicles in the burbs?
SPOONER for Chief!
Will Wade turn in all them shoulder-stars and get back on with the Gluckstadt patrol division? He didn't have time to get his high-four in.
Wade wasn't at GPD.
I was hoping Wendell Watts would breathe some fresh air into the patrol division but I'm of the belief now that he came back to JPD for two reasons: 1. Glukstadt was too much pressure on him. 2. Came back to JPD for a considerable raise to establish his high-four with PERS. Everytime I see him in the media, he's staring at his fucking phone.
