Ole Miss may have yet another sports scandal. The Running Poles podcast claims allegations of sexual misconduct in the softball program were presented to the Athletic Department:
Thirteen people connected with the Ole Miss softball program have confirmed to Running Poles that a Title IX investigation has been launched after allegations of assistant coach Katie Rietkovich Browder having an affair with a student-athlete came to light.
In a letter obtained by Running Poles that was sent to Athletic Director Keith Carter on July 29, accused head coach Jamie Trachsel of “covering up a sexual misconduct scandal involving two super seniors and a female assistant coach.”
According to the letter, the two seniors were in a relationship and one took screenshots of text messages exchanged between her girlfriend and their assistant coach. She then printed out the screenshots and taped them to the coach’s computer in her office. Running Poles story.
The Daily Mail (U.K.) picked up the Running Poles story. Running Poles is a softball-oriented podcast and website.

What is going on? We are losing contributors daily. Underclass enrollment is dropping at an alarming rate. It is pretty obvious we need to start firing, and at the top would be a good place to start.
Are You Ready?
Hell Yeah! Damn Right!
Hotty Toddy, Gosh Almighty,
What The Hell Did They Do? Hey!
Flim Flam, Bim Bam
Call Ken Starr By Damn!
1:20, don't give up your day job.
Oochie coochie.
They got rid of a pretty good coach to please some players and parents. Is this going to be the result of that?
Female coach sleeping with female players? A cover up by the boss?
If a male coach slept with a female player, authoritarian rape discussions would dominate the talking heads. As for this? Nothing to see, move along.
Ole Miss already has a porn star on its collectors cup. Now it has the making of a bad porno script in the softball locker room.
Lack of institutional control.
Institutional control is only provided by wealthy alumni donors. Day to day operations are a culture of silence everyone lives within to survive until the next semester. Rinse and repeat.
Hah !
This isn't even news.
It happens every day around the world in female sports.
Think LPGA or Women's Tennis.
(Not all involved in either sport are remotely engaged in such intimate "relationships).
But it sounds more real than Pastor Hugh Freeze using a Dollar Store Trac-Phone card to call "girls" in Florida.
And yeah, I'm an ole Miss Alum.
Two females in a relationship and an older female in authority tries to step in? Exotic and tintilating? Heck yes. Worthy of investigation? Only if you are a nosy pervert. Criminal? Never. That is reserved for men.
@2:43 --
If a male coach slept with a female player, authoritarian rape discussions would dominate the talking heads.
In the case of Auburn about three years ago, settlements got paid, a coach got fired, and eventually an athletic director was shown the door, though this was more the straw that broke the camel's back.
Don't know which "talking heads" to which you refer, but one long-time journalist got lied to & ended up looking foolish. I'm sure some heads will roll if there was a cover-up.
We can only wish that Hugh Freeze used a Dollar Store Trac-Phone to call his girls. Nope, he used a university-issued telephone.
Some coaches should be fired over this, but the coverup is what will almost guarantee Ole Miss has a bigger problem. It appears few actually read the article. The following is from the report on this.
Once coaches got involved in the case, the two student-athletes were reportedly bribed with "scholarship money" to keep the story under wraps.
"Based on these new allegations, Head Coach Jamie Trachsel has now violated NCAA Bylaw for Unethical Conduct and the Conduct of Athletic Personal Responsibility of the Head Coach," states the letter to AD Carter.
If the girls are 18 or older who really cares?
And you'd think they learned their lesson...nope. Arrogant, the whole lot of 'em. #WOAM
all of the middle aged eternal sophomores , and the beautiful people of the SEC now have a new soap opera to obsess about while they guzzle down their 18$ call drinks at the finer bars of mississippi. grow up..........you need to worry about raising you kid or paying you mortgage rather than some lesbian liaison among consenting adults. you people win the prize when it comes to chicken manure.
"Think LPGA or Women's Tennis."
Except, this isn't pro sports -- this is academia, with institutional oversight.
Read the part about the assistant coach's involvement. That's the problem, not a relationship among players.
Flagship university my ass.
Using possible taxpayer dollars to cover up a possible sex scandal is something that the public has a right to know. What's interesting is how people like to comment about everything when it happens on the other side of the tracks, but when it involves our possible backyard, people say there is nothing to see, let's keep it moving. Double standard.
2:46 - To my memory, it's the TSUN crowd who always barks that noise. And you're the perfect example of logical fallacy - Move on...errybody doin' it.
This turned out to be bullshit. Will you post the update?
