Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey issued the following statement.
Dangerous Fugitive Alex Deaton is Spotted in New Mexico While Committing a Violent Carjacking-Shooting-Kidnapping
The nationwide search for Alex DEATON, by law enforcement, is now able to focus on North Central New Mexico. On Tuesday February 28, 2017, at approximately 11:00 pm, the Rankin County Sheriff's Office was contacted by Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office (NM) and the Sandoval County Sheriff's Office (NM) inquiring about Heather Robinson's stolen 2012 GMC Arcadia.
Deputies from both New Mexico Sheriff's Offices recovered the white GMC that had been driven by DEATON. The tag had been switched with a Missouri Tag.
New Mexico authorities say they believe DEATON came out of a wooded area and approached a couple who was parked in the La Luz Trail Head parking area. DEATON then carjacked the couple at gun point and headed towards Forest Road 333. At some point the male subject, who has not been identified, attempted to escape. During the struggle the male was shot in the buttocks and the female was grazed by bullets fired by DEATON. DEATON continued south on Forest Road 333 with the female. At the intersection of Tramway Blvd and Forest Road 333 the female was able to escape. DEATON fled the scene before authorities arrived in the couple's White 2001 Honda Civic four door sedan bearing New Mexico Tag# MNF884. DEATONS direction of travel is unknown at this time.
Both victims POSITIVELY IDENTIFIED Alex Bridges DEATON as the suspect in this incident according to authorities on the scene.
At this time, both the male and the female victim's injuries are not believed to be life threatening. More details will be provided once they are available.
The Federal Bureau of Investigations is offering a $20,000 reward and the Rankin County Board of Supervisors is offering $5,000 reward. PriorityOne Bank along with "Pearl Multi-Family Owners" has each pledged $2,500. This along with the crime stoppers $2,500 reward brings the total to $32,500.
Anyone with information that leads to arrest of Alex Bridges DEATON would be eligible for up to a $32,500 reward. If you have information to help in this case, please call 911, Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip online through the Web Tip link on the home page of the Central MS Crime Stoppers website or use your mobile device or computer to submit a tip by going to www.P3tips.com.

This som'itch must think he's Clyde Barrow, trying to make it below the border!
Some of the granularity seems to be getting lost enroute to Mississippi.
If you happen to spot this piece of shit, protect your buttocks.
Shoots convenience store clerk in Kansas.
Good choice, Deaton, taking a sixteen year old car. I'm sure that '01 Honda will help you elude law enforcement as you tear down the New Mexico highway, especially since they have the plate.
Next he'll steal a '75 lime green Malibu with an oil leak and a Hefty bag covering a broken passenger window.
This guy is a dunce. He'll be arrested before Sunday.
This MFer will go down today. At his own hand or suicide by cop. But, today it stops.
The way he keeps shooting folks in the buttocks, I wonder if he's descended from the "little bastard" who shot the Waco Kid in the ass back around '74?
Seriously though, I hope they get this guy soon.
Glad they caught his Leprechaun ass.

I's TWOO, it's TWOO!
Castlewoods to Philadelphia to Castlewoods to Tulsa to Albuquerque to Pratt, Kansas. Was this guy trying to spell out a word on the map?
Glad the little punk is caught. I'll bet a buck and a quarter that Mr. Tribal Tattoo Fugitive cried like a four-year-old girl when they zip-tied his ass.
I was hoping for the pine box. We can look forward to his lifetime of incarceration in Mississippi now.
Hinds county, pay close attention to what Michael Guest does to this fella. Those in charge over there need to take note.
There is nothing funny about what this mf thug has done. Too bad that law enforcement didn't get a chance to put a bullet through his scull. I don't look forward to seeing the local media frenzy around his sorry ass when he returns.
Can I just say it?
Tattoos seem to be on the worst of people, people who are not responsible. A little tattoo on the neck of a girl means lots of things but nothing good. Am I the only person that has noticed that tattoos are a persons way of saying I can not be trusted?
If you read the account of how they stopped him and see the picture of the vehicle after he was detained, you can imagine his last minutes as a fugitive looked something like this here.
Enjoy prison, Bilbo Baggins.
10:24 AM Keep a prisoner in jail without the death penalty cost $940,000, in a lifetime while cases where the death penalty is sought cost $1.96 million. Maintaining each death row prisoner costs taxpayers $95,000 more per year than a prisoner in general population. He'll have 3 square meals a day, cable TV, commissary items, health & dental care, showers, books, & plenty of sex. Man what a life. I really feel sorry for the people he injuryed & killed. Think just a minute how much positive impact the dead nurse would have had on society. I feel dory for the poor parents of the victim.
Look out, 11:14. You just kicked the dog of the tattooed crowd. Be prepared for their wrath.
I feel the same way. When I meet someone with a tattoo, unless they're retired military, I think less of them. It always has been and always will be sleazy, and it's the favorite way for a guy who feels wimpy (like this joker) to make himself look and feel tougher. All it does is guarantee that you'll either be mowing lawns for a living or wearing long sleeves for the rest of your career.
And when it comes to women, a tattoo means either "easy and sleazy" or "overweight militant SJW activist".
Dam he didn't do it, I had my money on suicide by cop.
Would be nice if in cases like this where guilt is obvious, the case could be expedited to the front of the line for trial and the appeals process so they could have him executed by the end of the year.
"DEATON fled the scene before authorities arrived in the couple's White 2001 Honda Civic four door sedan bearing New Mexico Tag# MNF884. "
I could not figure out why the "authorities arrived in the couple's White 2001 Civic" and not a police car?
I graduated from JPS but my any of my English teachers would have beat me over that sentence.
Brandon is going down. Sad. Maybe we need to put up a wall around Rankin county.
11:14 - I'm sure there are plenty of really nice people with tattoos. I know of one or two myself. However, I can't understand why people would permanently mark themselves up, especially women. When you are young and tatted up you look like a thug. When you are old and tatted up you just look ridiculous. Military or not, lose the tattoos. Hopefully, the younger crowd, hoping not to be like their parents generation, will lose that tattoos.
@3:47
Could we not post pictures of (what I'm assuming is) his daughter?
Kingfish could you remove them, please?
She's going to have a lifetime of hurt, let's not participate in the ruining of her life too -- that's not relavent or news worthy.
