Mr. Elow Williams had a few things to say about the state of black-white relations on Facebook recently. He kept trying to post this in Roadblocks Jackson but it kept getting deleted. Methinks he deserves a proper audience.

Trollfest '09
Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.
Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).
Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.
Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".
In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.
In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.
Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.
Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!
This is definitely a Beaver production.

Dr. Heddy Matthias and Lori Gregory will face off in the undercard dueling with dangling participles and other um, devices. Robbie Bell will perform Her two latest songs: My Best Friends are in the Media and Mama's, Don't Let Your Babies Grow up to be George Bell. Sid Salter of The Clarion-Ledger will host "Pin the Tail on the Trial Lawyer", sponsored by State Farm.
There will be a hugging booth where in exchange for your young son, Frank Melton will give you a loooong hug. Trollfest will have a dunking booth where Muhammed the terrorist will curse you to Allah as you try to hit a target that will drop him into a vat of pig grease. However, in the true spirit of Separate But Equal, Don Imus and someone from NE Jackson will also sit in the dunking booth for an equal amount of time. Tom Head will give a reading for two hours on why he can't figure out who the hell he is. Cliff Cargill will give lessons with his .80 caliber desert eagle, using Frank Melton photos as targets. Tackleberry will be on hand for an autograph session. KIM Waaaaaade will be passing out free titles and deeds to crackhouses formerly owned by The Wood Street Players.

I hate to say it, but he's not entirely wrong.
Leading from behind as we race to the bottom.
I don't hate to say it - he's not entirely wrong. However, the black community failed to learn the most basic lesson in violent civil disobedience - burn down your enemy's neighborhoods, not your own.
Yeah, those Democrats led the way!
I hear what he's saying, but that was 50 years ago.
Does repeating a wrong make it right? If he knows the damage that previous riots caused, then he would be out to stop it rather than excuse it.
Just a logical observation.
It is time for the preachers both black and white to forget about the bottom line, and start preaching some good lessons on sin. No race has a monopoly on sin and it is of the Devil and should be preached. Right is right and wrong is wrong and 98% of us know the difference. Quit hiding behind race and culture and bad families. Grade school children know right from wrong. Why do we say it is OK to forget your conscience when you get to middle school? The wage of sin is death. Start preaching it again.
So, looting liquor stores and burning down a Southern Baptist funded home for senior citizens is that second wrong that makes things right? So, black protestors who riot hold that same moral high ground as the minority of whites who were Klansmen? No peace No Justice. Gotcha, Elow.
Dear Elow Williams,
You providing us with a history lesson does exactly what for your cause? You learned nothing then, and you are using what you learned to accomplish what? How does destroying business and burning down your neighborhood make things better?
You point out the senseless killings during the civil rights movement, yet how many senseless killings have black people committed on black people because of a disturbance at the juke joint? Or because yo bro owed you 5 dollars?
Now remember, you interjected race as the basis of your rant, so you shouldn't be upset when I reply with how many black people were killed at the hands of the Klan compared to the number of black people killed by black people?
You really didn't mention anything that we did not already know, but I do wish you would explain how breaking into the CVS and stealing toilet paper makes everything alright.
If we channel our collective voices then we too can soar to a new level of greatness and freedom, or some other bullshit like that. Fuck off.
Mr. Williams is correct to remind whites of their own history of sin, but I think the entire conversation of whether whites or blacks riot more is misplaced and, frankly, a little disturbing. This sort of conversation does little to help race relations other than, perhaps, to provide a corner in which to acknowledge and mourn past and present wrongs. The key questions about this week's riots have little to do with who riots more. The key questions are 1) What caused the riots?, 2) Are they right or wrong?, and 3) What reforms are needed to put a stop to them in the long-term? The first and third questions are up for debate, but the answer to the second question is that the riots are indeed morally wrong in this instance, whatever the skin-color of those engaging in them. The burning of CVS and other stores advanced no cause whatsoever. Instead, it serves as a sad reminder of the sin that lurks in the hearts of us all--sin of which no people group has ever been innocent.
1:45 Anyone care to wager how many decades it will be before another CVS opens in West Baltimore?
I left Baltimore 20 years ago (then eventually left Maryland altogether) when it became obvious this sort of crap was inevitable. I don't know why do Republican is reminding everyone that O'Malley ran Baltimore for eight years before running Maryland for eight years, and this is his legacy.
This is the dumbest thing I've read today. They are eager for any reason to blame it on the white man. The violence started yesterday when the kids got out of school. It was kids causing the problems. Their parents weren't around in the 50s, and likely their grandparents weren't either.
If black people put as much effort into raising their kids as they do into blaming whitey, this nonsense wouldn't be happening today.
So, if I understand point, its ok for blacks to riot (almost constantly) against whites TODAY because a few white people rioted against blacks almost 60 years ago. In that case, its now OUR turn again.....and blacks are expected to sit quietly and watch because.... its OUR turn....right??
As an African American, I am appalled at the rioting, burning and looting..?..?.. in our communities!
Shift the paradigm! Riot, burn and loot in neighborhoods with green lawns and walking trails of greater significance economically and socially and where the corrupt politicians, biased judges and HH/88 cops reside!
Aside from spotting a flaming racist at 5:06, might I axe what an HH/88 cop is?
@5:06
If you or your children come to my neighborhood 'of green lawns and walking trails of greater significance' and riot, rest assured that I will shoot you.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQcPbyjDKEs
@6:03
Thanks to your brethren in the NRA, local gun shows and gun trades on Craigslist, we're strapped too! But honestly, how many paved sidewalks can there be in the trailer park where you are!
Calm your nerves, pray bad weather doesn't knock over that tin foil trap, see what your half sister, um wife wants, enjoy your spice before MBN sweeps the streets of it, but most importantly, keep your daughters away from the local star athletes!!
My neighborhood is far from a trailer park. More accurately, it's the type of neighborhood thugs like you can only dream of. And I don't care if your 'strapped.' Come on and riot on my green lawn. I can think of nothing that would make me happier.
I never thought about it that way. But it was wrong and stupid when white people did it, and it's wrong and stupid now. The best way to fight something is in court where it costs money. Nothing changes policy like losing money does. And "Can't we all just get along?"
I was 8 years old (white) and living in Jackson in 1964 and 1965 when much of the violence was going on. I grew up thinking that all the violence was perpetuated by blacks ("Negroes" was the official word) because the local television stations would have "technical difficulty" whenever national feeds showed white violence. The local news would show still photos of all the outside agitators and other criminals locked up at the Fairgrounds before they could be processed to Parchman. I didn't realize the other side of the story until the 1980s.
