They are icons of a bygone era.

Unfortunately, they have been replaced in later generations by some of the most unprofessional and unproductive employees this nation has ever seen.

Bad attitudes, terrible service and generally bad work ethic rules the day.

This week, I had a package that was to deliver. It was raining in the day of delivery. Instead of getting the package, I got a note stating that they “attempted delivery” but that there was an access issue to the driveway or door. This is a lie. The postal worker simply didn’t want to get out of their truck in the rain to make the delivery.

What happened to that Mailman Motto? Pathetic. Working all hours, heat, snow, rain. 6 days a week. Now, they deliver 7 days a week. 100s of millions of letter and parcels. Every day.

And we've had several killed in the line of duty in Mississippi by criminals recently. A blonde women up north, a black law officer doing this part time, and now this man.

Hats off to Postal people. Unappreciated. They save lives of elderly, for whom the mail carrier may be the only one they talk to. Good folks, often disparaged. Each day in the hood or on the rural route. Taking care of little folks and big, all the same.

In many ways, another uniformed service. Kudos to KF and these co workers. Much respect. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
