Innate senses will" trump personalities" ...especially since us humans ascribe personalities rather more often than the dogs have anything other than characteristics of a breed.

ALL my dogs have exceeded their average life span by 4 or more years following his advice. One just missed setting a breed record.

By the way, he said the biggest mistake dog owners make is to overfeed their dogs. Dogs " live to eat", he said, " that's their raison d'etre. Take away that and you take away one of their reasons to live".

I have the Yorkies mentioned above.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2447438783001404385.post-75545986994143743312009-12-14T21:50:08.541-06:002009-12-14T21:50:08.541-06:00Years ago I was shopping at a Walmart and I notice...Years ago I was shopping at a Walmart and I noticed a lil old lady looking at the dog food."Sam's" brand I beleive had just been introduced and I was looking at the protein content. She stated, "My little dog won't eat it." I looked at her and stated, "yes he will...and he'll like it too." She stated, "I already tried it and he wouldn't eat it." I then told her the secret. "Don't feed him for three days. Nothing but water. And then put a big bowl down there and I'll promise he'll eat it and want some more." LOL. You'd have thought I suggested rat poison as she left in a huff. Sorry, it was funny to me then. And just as funny to me now.

P.S. This is not an endorsment for Sam's brand. I didn't feed it then and don't feed it now. After a week or two on it, here came the eyes draining and the constant itching. Put him back on his regular food and it took 2-3 weeks to take effect. When I first put him on it it took a couple of months to really take effect. Sometimes it can take a while to figure out your dog's biochem. I've just seen this allergy free food I've recommended work more often than not. It can take awhile even if it does work.Kingfishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06184990110961727404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2447438783001404385.post-23373723966799481992009-12-14T16:51:13.761-06:002009-12-14T16:51:13.761-06:00I believe you KF but my Yorkies won't eat the ...I believe you KF but my Yorkies won't eat the Sweet Potato and Fish.
