Cant add much to the conversation other than to repeat all the posts above. Chris was a good friend, a very sharp mind, a great intellect that carried a sharp wit with it.

He died in his sleep in his home in Washington - a week before his 50th birthday. The news of his death has been a shock to his many friends here and in DC.

He will be missed by many.Pete Perrynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2447438783001404385.post-36787418878586383822011-07-29T21:46:18.790-05:002011-07-29T21:46:18.790-05:00Chris was a dear friend. I wasn't real close to Chris but did know him socially, and am saddened to hear this news.

@2:08pm - Yes, he ran for Secretary of State in 1995 and lost to Barbara Blanton in the Republican Primary. Blanton lost to Democrat Eric Clark in the general election.

Not that his campaign in 1995 defined him as a person, but one part about it, I sometimes will still see a bumpersticker of his on a sign here or there and think of him, and still will remember him.

My prayers go out to his family.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2447438783001404385.post-44419807166987221162011-07-27T14:20:49.431-05:002011-07-27T14:20:49.431-05:00Chris Webster passed away on July 21 at a hospital...Chris Webster passed away on July 21 at a hospital in Washington DC of a heart attack. He had been remarried only since Valentines Day.

It is sad to hear of his death. I had known him since 1989 or so. Anyone who knew Chris would attest as to his sharp, unconventional intellect and to what a decent, selfless person he was. He was a great person to have as a friend -- the kind who worked hard to never lose touch with his friends and acquaintances.Ken Striblingnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2447438783001404385.post-14659139329214084722011-07-27T14:08:59.983-05:002011-07-27T14:08:59.983-05:00Wow, shocker.
