These kids that we usually read about on JJ should aspire to be like him. Alas, we are left only with the garbage of humanity, Davis, who will continue his existence as a parasite on our community.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2447438783001404385.post-60707099422862503362015-01-16T16:12:25.764-06:002015-01-16T16:12:25.764-06:0010:16 you can google this but I've used it in ...10:16 you can google this but I've used it in these types of cases. here's a reference http://www.california-drunkdriving.org/blood_vs_serum.html

I've seen some cases which discuss this as well. The correlation value for the Axsym analyzer was 0.994."

A 0.994 correlation between the hospital method and the forensic lab method (gas chromatography) sounds pretty damn impressive.

Read more here:

http://www.forensic-lab.com/publications/hospital.html

1) He does note many other potential problems such as the chain of custody I mentioned (a legal problem, not a scientific or medical accuracy problem).

2) Gas chromatography also takes just a few hours (I have run thousands of samples through GC machines).

So, again, what took so long to get evidence to arrest this guy?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2447438783001404385.post-61656749969567437652015-01-16T10:16:25.373-06:002015-01-16T10:16:25.373-06:009:08 Got a reference for that? Doctors make what can be life or death decisions based on the results of the hospital alcohol level, so I doubt very much a 25% variance from an accurate result would be acceptable.

It also wouldn't explain such an enormous time lag.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2447438783001404385.post-59060995402516041772015-01-16T09:08:22.473-06:002015-01-16T09:08:22.473-06:00The hospital's blood test is different than th...The hospital's blood test is different than the test conducted by the Crime Lab. The hospital's test is done on the blood serum and this can increase the blood alcohol level by 25%. The Crime Lab, on the other hand, conducts its test pursuant to the DUI statute and, when done correctly, is pretty much impossible to refute. I understand the chain-of-custody bureaucracy but what is the reason for this ridiculous amount of time it takes for the state lab to measure this? It should be that any alleged crime that results in a death should be the absolute highest priority for the state lab.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
