"

Historically that may have been true, but two major changes have occurred.

1) Most Republicans I know were nauseated by Haley's pardons of 5 guys who murdered their wives/girlfriends in broad daylight, in front of the victim's kids, etc, and even bought cars for a few of them. Normal people found this morally repugnant, and realized what a windbag he is about "family values"

2) His financial management skills are being exposed with the failure of the handouts to his cronies to revitalize the gulf coast after Katrina. There was some legitimate disagreement about whether the money should be used for housing (when no jobs were available) versus jobs (when there was no housing for workers who came back to the coast) but the long term results now show that neither result was a real concern for Haley's crew, just grabbing the federal money.

I don't think the Barbour name is carries much weight in MS anymore, something I never would have believed ten years ago.

Like a Greek tragedy, all the shame and embarrassment is self-induced due to his own greed. The Oracle of Madisonnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2447438783001404385.post-74420446831966301432014-12-31T09:18:01.892-06:002014-12-31T09:18:01.892-06:00Several of you are misspelling "public servan...Several of you are misspelling "public servant" it is "self servant". (December 28, 2014) Jason Cochran announced today that he is exploring the potential of running for Public Service Commission.
“I have been looking at several opportunities for public service, including the Mississippi Legislature and Public Service Commission, should Lynn Posey decide to not seek re-election. Having received confirmation today that Mr. Posey will not run for his post, I am seriously considering seeking election to fill his office. I have been approached by a number of individuals encouraging me to pursue this avenue, and I will continue to seek the counsel of my family, friends and others as I determine my course for the future,” stated Cochran.
Having grown-up in a family of public servants, including his father Neilson Cochran, his mother Connie Cochran, and his uncle Thad Cochran, Jason understands the commitment required in serving the citizens of Mississippi. Jason Cochran expects to formulate his plans and announce his decision within the next several weeks.
According to Cochran, “Lynn Posey has a long and distinguished record of serving in the Mississippi Legislature and as Public Service Commissioner, for eight (8) years. I congratulate him on his commitment to the people of Mississippi and look forward to determining how I can best serve the citizens.”Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2447438783001404385.post-64159225894261298192014-12-30T20:28:53.028-06:002014-12-30T20:28:53.028-06:00@6:19.
