The pipe in question that broke is an existing cast iron pipe that was not replaced in the 2012/2013 utility project. This section of pipe has most likely been beneath the street surface for almost 100 years. Regardless of what caused the failure, one might think that is a pretty good service life.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2447438783001404385.post-89275311623368862132015-08-17T06:53:30.752-05:002015-08-17T06:53:30.752-05:00That is a palpable fear you're hearing from @1...That is a palpable fear you're hearing from @10:26 PM.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2447438783001404385.post-33631536167289133062015-08-16T17:16:36.757-05:002015-08-16T17:16:36.757-05:001:24 aren't you happy!? Was the inspector the end all, be all? Also, the engineer? Remember who selected/hired these people? The Engineer who designed this project had an inspector on the site, I feel sure. Check your facts before you jump. It could have been a defective pipe or joint, I suppose. New pipe should not be breaking even at 5 years so lets wait for the evidence to be uncovered and discovered.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2447438783001404385.post-42599918424894867502015-08-15T18:10:11.956-05:002015-08-15T18:10:11.956-05:00Yup Kingfish. But the fact that it is happening so soon on this recently completed project means this break is highly likely to be the first of many water breaks to come.

Any updates from Yarber's crack communications team on that water emergency?

THEY ARE JACKSON !!!
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2447438783001404385.post-83207683056449161912015-08-15T17:16:41.342-05:002015-08-15T17:16:41.342-05:00Can't the City of Jackson do anything correctl...Can't the City of Jackson do anything correctly???? The original pipes have been there, only God knows how long and have been giving problems in the last, what, approximately five to seven years. The current administration replaces pipes and they don't last one year? Your tax dollars at work, folks! But, hey, be careful what you ask for, you just might get it!
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
