Madison County Coroner Alex Breland ruled that Lakrisna Myers shot her boyfriend, Darryl Davis, to death with his service weapon and then killer herself with a gunshot to the head. The murder/suicide took place at her home at 120 Clearview Drive East in Madison County on Wednesday. A police report obtained by JJ states that domestic disturbances had occurred between the couple.
The police report states that a deputy responded to a disturbance call on January 26, 2017 at 12:32 AM at Myers's home:
Lakrisna Myers called 911 stating that Darryl Davis and her had been in a disturbance at their residence at 120 Clearview Drive East. Lakrisna stated that she was driving around the neighborhood and could not go home because Darryl was following her. Lakrisna was driving her Honda Accord and Darryl was driving his sheriff's dept. Both Lakrisna and Darryl work for the Hinds County Sheriff's Dept.... I arrived at 120 Clearview Dr. East and saw Lakrisna's Honda Accord in the driveway but Darryl's Sheriff's department vehicle was not there. Lakrisna was sitting in the driver's seat of the Honda. Lakrisna stated that her and Darryl have been dating and living together for "a while." Lakrisna said that she has a new man and asked Darryl to move out about a month ago. She said that Darryl still pays rent at her house but he will not move out. Lakrisna stated that earlier in the night Darryl and her began to argue. She said that she did not hit Darryl and Darryl did not hit her but they "tore the inside of the house up."
JJ obtained the report through a public records request. The bodies were discovered Wednesday evening by deputies who were conducting a welfare check. The Hinds County Sheriff's Office asked the Madison County Sheriff's Office to make the welfare check after neither employee showed up to work.
Darryl did not return to the scene while I was there. I was unable to speak to him to get his version of what happened. Lakrisna was agitated and I did not ask to go inside to see the damage to the inside of the house. No charges are filed at this time.
